From the letter in a bottle, to the notebook, to this.

It seems that writers like tragic endings, although the ending of The Notebook is a little better.
If you have to compare it with Message in a Bottle, this film is still slightly inferior. Diane Lane in this film played very well. Compared with Meryl Streep of Covered Bridge's last dream, she was evenly matched; but compared with Eastwood, Richard Gill was a little worse. He was more suitable beautiful woman.
Speaking of Diane Lane, I couldn't help but think of the restored version of A little Romance I rewatched two days ago. This movie is absolutely amazing.

Nights in Rodanthe quotes

  • Dr. Paul Flanner: We all make choices, Adrienne. You chose that life, you chose that man. Do you even remember who you really are anymore?

    Adrienne Willis: Just stop it.

  • Dr. Paul Flanner: What keeps you safe?

Adrienne Willis: Well, you fall in love with someone, you know... and you make a family... and you become what you think you're supposed to be. And you change and you give up certain things. Then they look at what you've got left and you wish you... I don't know, you just think maybe you shouldn't have.

    Dr. Paul Flanner: Don't.

Dr. Paul Flanner: Just don't do it anymore.

    Adrienne Willis: ...Huh.
