I read this novel many years ago, and the impression is hazy, and I don't understand its deep meaning. After watching the movie today, I was quite moved.
A feast is not a wedding feast, but contains hundreds of flavors. Humans are stronger than we think. Whether it's Chloe, the man who got divorced twice in a row, or Harry, they know life and dare to face everything.
Like the soundtrack, the whole movie and novel maintain a certain tone of sadness and compassion. Maybe something is destined for everyone, but a merciful God will open a small window for those who are disappointed, so don't despair, don't give up .

I watched for longer then I should have. I was envious. And then I felt sorry for them. There's so much they don't know. Heartbreak they can't even imagine.

    Bradley Smith: [sighs] Well, even if they knew, it wouldn't change anything.

    Harry Stevenson: How so?

    Bradley Smith: Well, Chloe knew what was gonna happen to Oscar.

    Harry Stevenson: What do you mean she knew?

    Bradley Smith: She did. She went to some psychic lady who predicted the whole thing.

    Harry Stevenson: She believed her?

    Bradley Smith: Yes, Harry. She did. And she didn't run away. She didn't crawl into a hole. She found them a house, she threw away her birth control, and she married him. God doesn't hate us, Harry. If he did, he wouldn't have made our hearts so brave.
