I watched it when I was a junior, a movie I had been looking for for a long time. Peter Weir's famous work coined the story of the mysterious disappearance of three girls and a teacher on February 14, 1900, when girls from an Australian women's college went to a volcano for a picnic. This surreal film does not draw any conclusions about the disappearance of these girls. The precipitous rocks and misty white clouds in the film all give this film a mysterious supernatural coat.
This film is also a classic masterpiece of Australian New Wave films in the 1970s. As a film from nearly 30 years ago, in my opinion today, it still feels very flavorful and not boring, which shows that the director's skills are perfect. And the ending of the movie is open-ended, inconclusive, and requires the audience to imagine by themselves.
I love Peter Will.
