BEATLES THROUGH THE FIRST

The director tried to use 31 beatles songs to connect the life of the "lost generation" in the 1960s and 1970s in the United States, such as racial issues, anti-war, smoking marijuana, young people from small towns going to big cities to seek life and so on. Personally, I think this topic is a bit big, and we don't have a deep feeling about what happened in the past, so after seeing it, I feel that the main line is a bit scattered.
But even so, I really liked this movie. Because the music in the film is so good, every beatles song is very well adapted. Especially the climax part, the editing of the movie seems to be high.
Although John Lenon has been away for 28 years and Paul McCartney is only coming out to meet everyone because of the divorce case, BEATLES' singing will always be there and move more people.

Across the Universe quotes

  • Jude: What is that place?

Prankster: The headquarters of the league of spiritual deliverance!

Dr. Robert: The home of Dr. Gary, another outlaw, like myself. We're navigators, we're aviators, we're eatin' tators, masturbatin' alligators, bombardiers, we got no fears, we don't shed no tears, we're pushin' the frontiers... of transcendental perception. What's weird is, we haven't met yet, on this or any other plane.

Prankster: Hey doc, he says he won't see you, man.

Dr. Robert: Why, is he sick?

Prankster: He just said he's busy.

Dr. Robert: Did you tell that

    [sniff]

Dr. Robert: sonofabitch that we drove 3,000 miles to see him? Alright, everybody back on the bus. We're going home, to California.

Max: Doc, California isn't home to all of us.

Dr. Robert: What can I say? You're either on the bus, or off the bus.

  • Mr. Kite: It's me!

    [music blast]

    Mr. Kite: In the thing!
