name written on water

Today, I read Mr. Dai's book review and analysis of Beltrucci, mentioned this film, so I downloaded it. I always thought that two hours was my limit for watching movies, but this time, it was 160 minutes before I knew it.
At the beginning of the chapter, I listened to some typical Chinese speaking English dialogues, and I thought it was ridiculous. I also saw some people say that if China came to shoot, it would be more local and better. After reading it, I feel that the English dialogue may be a pity, but other than that, it is already very good.
Don't tell me how many historical facts are distorted by the movie. Watching dramas is not teaching you history. Besides, history is constructed in the first place.
Who is qualified to say what the historical appearance is? Who has a say in history? We know a whole century, through the narration of those who have experienced it, or through the textual research and popularization of the authoritative people? Or, for fans of the authorities, who can really comment on outsiders, such as "Twilight in the Forbidden City" or the film itself?
What does it really matter who speaks? The purpose of our understanding of history is not to gossip about those who have passed away, but to speculate on the attitudes of those who speak, and to reflect the state of mind of those who are "creating" history. So we say, times, history, people are really small, so we have a resonance with the speaker.
When I used to read history books, I felt that this man may be the greatest sorrow in modern Chinese history. He is really an actor, or a puppet. He has gone through so many ups and downs of the times. He once struggled, and then he calmed down. After ten years of reform in prison, I kept thinking when I watched the movie, if a person is alive and has no future, why didn't he commit suicide? He committed suicide, failed, and then "quietly" underwent a makeover, starting with tying his own shoelaces. Ten years later, he went out, raising flowers and grass, from a long live man at the top of the clouds to a proletariat who does everything by himself. History is so interesting.
I’m not actually angry with the youth, but I’m just used to seeing a person’s birthday and death date when I get to know him, and then corresponding to the major events in history one by one, and then when I see their life has reached a major point in time Remind yourself, and then sigh. However, historical figures have already entered the pile of old papers after all, so what should we do next?
The Republic has been in existence for 60 years, and it has caught up with the best era so far. What about the future? If you have been in the best era, is your record in the future a piece of nonsense, such as: "born in a certain year, graduated from elementary school in a certain year, worked in a certain year, married in a certain year..." Are you looking forward to the day? If you catch up with the big changes, after you go up and down, where will you be thrown by this time machine?
I know it's a bit pretentious to think about this, but I've learned some history recently and feel a little sad.
Mr. Dai's interpretation is much deeper, connecting with Freud's psychology, telling about the lack of Puyi's father's role and the so-called Oedipus complex and how Johnston played the father's role and then ideologically symbolized the West's perception of poverty. Enlightenment of the backward east. Personally, I think it is a bit over-interpreted. In short, it is easier to simply think about the big and small people, and then be hypocritical. I think it is easier.
Many of these people turned to dust, and many others lived humble and silent. As Keats' epitaph says: "Here lies the man whose name was writ on water." Isn't that all? Live a life, no matter how great or noble you are, you will always return to the earth, your name is written on the water, washed away by the torrent of the times, everyone is the same. If you figure it out, you'll feel better when you watch a movie.
To add, I am curious how the government at that time agreed and cooperated with the filming of this movie? ! really not easy.
Also, the four generations of Puyi have performed well, and Chen Chong is really a showman, I'm impressed, it's amazing!

The only downside is that the original English soundtrack is too weird, and the Chinese dubbing is ridiculously bad. #Chen Chong is really good at acting#

One of the rare Chinese epic films with deep reflection, from an Italian director, how sad, what are we doing? forgetting? In addition, it is quite rare to see my hometown Fushun in the movie.
