cursed power

When I first started watching it, I thought it was like Death Note. The same is a teenager who has acquired superpowers trying to transform the world, the same is a high-IQ male protagonist, and the same is a struggle for intelligence. Death Note is a masterpiece that leaves me breathless! So, I watched it with great interest.

But Lelouch and Ye Shenyue are still very different. Ye Shenyue is to transform the world according to her own will, hoping that the world will become the image in her mind; Lelouch is determined to defeat the empire so that her sister can live a happy life. Ye Shenyue regarded herself as a god, and apart from her family, anyone else, even someone who loved him the most, was a pawn to him, without the slightest emotion. Lelouch is not the same. Needless to say about his sister, he also attaches great importance to his friendship with his friends at school, and he is also very affectionate towards girls who like him. Even if he knew that Suzaku was his biggest enemy, he still regarded it as his best friend, and couldn't bear to use his Geass ability to distort his will (only when dealing with Rollo, he had a taste of Yagami, using Other people's feelings for themselves, drain their value and then discard them. But in fact, in the end, they also have real feelings for Rollo). This guy is actually a person full of emotions, and he is really not suitable for the role of zero.

Sometimes I think, is it really happy that Ye Shen and Lelouch have obtained these extraordinary powers? This kind of power close to God is naturally everyone's dream, but can they really bring happiness to people? If Ye Shenyue didn't get that notebook, she would be nothing but an angry youth. Even if she was dissatisfied with the unfairness of the world, she could only complain, but couldn't really do anything. In this way, he will not suffer the final fate of destruction, and he can live a happier life than most people by his own ability. The same is true of Lelouch. If it weren't for the ability to acquire Geass, he would not have embarked on the road of becoming an enemy of the empire. He could only guard his sister's side and live an ordinary life with his friends in the school. Maybe one day, family, friendship and love can dissolve the ice in his heart. Wouldn't it be happier then?

So, this near-divine power is more precisely the power of the devil, who tempts people to go where they shouldn't. After all, people are just people. Even if they gain this kind of power, it is impossible to completely control them, and they can only end up dying. Therefore, when Reaper and CC gave Yagami and Lelouch the power, they both asked them if they had considered it and really decided to accept this power. They know that this power does not bring happiness, it can only bring curses. But our male protagonists, they all accepted it without hesitation, without considering what the outcome would be. Or, even if they knew there might be such an outcome, accept it anyway. Well, after all, people are nothing but desires in their hearts. As they accepted this power, they sold their souls to the devil. The devil I'm talking about here doesn't mean Death or CC, but the devil in their own hearts!

So, this kind of power is actually a curse to people. Ye Shenyue finally fell under this curse. Lelouch is a little different. The moment the long sword pierced his body, he was freed from this curse. However, he also paid the price with his life for this! Why do they have such a difference. Perhaps, Lelouch is more human and more emotional.

Probably, Lelouch was happier than Ye Shenyue.

  • Kallen: You fellas know full well what this badass mother can do!

  • Lloyd: Are you surprised?

    Milly: [blinks] Uhhh...

Lloyd: Matchmaking dates are usually in hotels or restaurants.

Milly: Uh, I suppose that's true, but I'd heard you were a very unique person, Lord Asplund.

Lloyd: [works at computer] Unique! What a delightfully awful way to put it.

Milly: I'm surprised you're interested in a girl from the downgraded Ashford family after it lost its rank.

Lloyd: [turns to Milly] Oho! But I couldn't care less about loss of rank.

    Cecile: Excuse me.

[sets down a tray of tea for Lloyd and Milly]

Milly: I'm sorry to trouble you.

Cecile: Not at all. Take your time.

    Lloyd: No need for that.

    [resumes working]

Lloyd: Why draw it out? Let's get married.

    Milly: Huh?

    [exclaims]

    Milly: That's it?

    Lloyd: Getting cold feet?
