A movie I've been reluctant to spend time watching

"The Monster of the Han River" should be a movie from a long time ago. I watched it in 2006, and it was very popular at that time. At that time, I didn't watch it because I read other people's comments. Many people said that it was not scary at all. So I always thought it was a horror movie.

Just last night, I watched the broadcast of CCTV 6, and Meng Guangmei introduced it carefully before. I prefer Meng Guangmei as the host, so I have the patience to listen to her finish. And under her inspiration, I watched the movie on TV very seriously.

I just realized that this should be a movie that I should have watched a long time ago, but in 2008, it was at the end of it. It's not a horror movie, we could define it as a thriller, but it's definitely not just for scaring you. It is still expressing a certain point of view, and it is satirizing certain phenomena. I regret that such a film will never be made and released in China, because the damn radio, film and television bureau will kill it. This movie is not as bad as I thought, and although it is not a super blockbuster, it definitely does not make people feel like a waste of time to watch.

Park Nam-il: [to Hie-bong] Why does he have to do that? He's not a little kid.

Park Hie-bong: Let him be. He wants to disinfect himself. He's worried he'll pass the virus onto Hyun-seo.

  • [the Park siblings are watching a report about them on a TV. One nurse being interviewed has had her voice sped up and her face concealed to protect her identity]

Korean nurse on TV: The blond one, who made direct contact with it. He's the stupidest of all.

Park Nam-il: That bitch. Listen to the mouth on her.

Korean nurse on TV: He pounced on me and slammed me to the floor. I think he gave me arthritis. That's what he's like.

Park Nam-il: I know who she is. Like we can't recognize her through that voice-disguiser?
