choose?

People always have to choose between various important things. David chose to save other Jewish people first, but when it was his lover Simon's turn, it was too late. He has received historical achievements, honors, and left an infinite grief. The former can never make up for the latter. The film deliberately sets up this dilemma, but what if David went straight to Simon's house and then went to inform the others? Assuming that both of them survive, their homosexual love is still difficult for the world to accept. Although the two will not be separated by life and death like this, David still has to suffer for the two of them not being able to be together. Therefore, the focus of the film is not on choice, but on the pain that life is always unfulfilling, and people always live in that imagined "beautiful world". The problem faced by the heroine, the affair, is not as socially acceptable as homosexuality, but she still chooses to cherish the present and choose responsibility.

Beauty, food and suspense are very attractive during the viewing process, but after watching it, I feel a little calm and a little disappointed.
