That flip-flap guy facing a facinating, enchanting, alluring young woman, oh gee! The imagination all about this in a man's middle age is really universal which is called "The Seven years' itch" as a terminology. Superficially watching this movie you find it has no sense to analysis it because it is just a standard typical American farce. Yeah, it is and with no special technics just the excellent dialogue and attacting envisions and illusions. It truly surpasses some counterparts, some movies of the same genre, only about movie itself.
But what is more magnificent is the director's(Billy Wilder) intention to express or present a kind of abnormal but really normal things - the seven years' itch or middle-aged crisis. It's really popular among not only the middle class of the United States but also the worlds' normal men. When a man reached 40, something, gradually or suddenly, altered. With career succesful or not, he would feel indifferent and a bit bored with life for no ferocious exciteness to meet. So what's next waiting? Always, some men began to feel bored with his wife and even upset, especially when he had a lot of duties for both family and business. All his previous dreams became bubble and the rest were only trivials. So the Seven Years Itch came.
Compared with some others referring to this topic , this film is just too superficial, no compex relations, no wonderful and standard stories. Whatsoever I gave it 5 stars because of its simpleness and delicacy, its awesome sidesplitTing scenes all the time. Well, that's enough.
