"Ultimate War" tells the story of a group of Allied soldiers who left their homes and participated in the anti-fascist war, striving for world peace. From another perspective, it describes the inhuman life that Allied prisoners of war lived in Japanese concentration camps during World War II. Interspersed with some old black and white photos, to the world to reproduce the scene of that year.
There are many scenes of the brutal killing of prisoners of war by Japanese soldiers in the film, which made me feel like a needle in my heart. Yes, this is just the tip of the iceberg. Their life in the concentration camp is actually better than death. For "vulnerable" Americans, they couldn't bear the abuse of their human rights, so they rebelled. This film made me see the unwavering faith, unparalleled strength and solid friendship as a pure "human".
In the second half of the film, "Yankee" sacrificed himself for the lives of all the prisoners of war, and "Shakespeare" traded himself for the life of Major Campbell, which made my blood boil. The film climaxes in "Shakespeare" where Ito is crucified. He was no longer just a prisoner of war at this time, his soul exploded with astonishing power, I think we can take this man nailed to the cross as Jesus!
Now we may not be able to understand their psychology, but in such an environment, various cultures are integrated rather than opposed, and all ethnic groups understand each other and treat each other tolerantly. Only then can we persist until the war really ends. I think this may be the title of the film. the meaning of it.
