Who can guess God's will?

In fact, I downloaded this film a long time ago. I watched a few clips while dragging the progress bar. I felt that the tone was dark and the war plot was boring, so I never watched it from beginning to end.

I was really bored today. After reading the beginning, I was deeply attracted, and then I kept my eyes on it until the end. It's a perfect movie! There are no dazzling stunts, no big-name actors, but they show unrestrained imagination.

The film is an alternate history, as if the projection of our world is different. The extensive use of steam and coal energy, the retro costumes of the people in the play, it is not that the screenwriter has no historical knowledge, it is just a typical steampunk feature. In this sci-fi world, human beings have not invented electric energy, nuclear energy, etc., and all technologies use steam as energy. (Of course, burning coal to fly to Mars is a bit of a joke.)

The belief concept throughout the film, the conflict between theism and atheism, is very interesting.

The male protagonist is an officer, but he is an atheist. He joined the mission team just to leave his best friend's wife and daughter with the chance to fly to Mars. It's a cow, it's almost invincible, it's half biochemical and can get away, and the others will die easily. Due to his unremitting efforts, he survived many times in desperation, and finally triggered the machine and flew to Mars to kill the surviving humans. Isn't it a wonderful irony to kill someone you want to protect with your own hands?

Bishop, the organizer of this task force, should be the biggest villain. I firmly believe that he knew from the beginning that the mission was not to save, but to exterminate. He is a devout believer of God, who is not bound by human morality, but has firm belief and executes God's instructions. Since the ancient heroes sealed the machine, the test of the gods has also begun. In the end, it's just human beings.

God gives life and machines destroy everything. But machines are also made by God.

There are also several impressive scenes in the film. For example, when the officer's friend was about to die, he was saying goodbye to the male protagonist. The male protagonist quickly and violently drew a gun and shot him to death. The infinite sadness is moving. Gloomy city ruins, gloomy sky, full comic feel.

If it is not enough, the mutated human shape plagiarizes Captain Hook and The Lord of the Rings! ! Holding a hook in the right hand and putting on an Ox head to pretend to be a biochemical person is too simple.

Anyway, I think this movie is great.
