truth of faith

When it comes to religion and belief, things get complicated. It's even more confusing to have people reviewing the film who see religion as a tourist attraction and social goals as beliefs.
Islam preaches that saving one person means saving the whole world, and preaching forgiveness, honesty, fraternity, ordering people to do good, stop evil from doing evil, strengthen unity, and norms of courtesy. But their Prophet did have a sword in one hand and a book (the Qur'an) in the other, and waged holy war against the infidels.
Christianity preached "Love your neighbor as yourself", but their crusades made several crusades and massacred pagans, from which the two religions continued to feud.
So, is it any wonder that terrorists attack with fearless self-sacrifice in the name of jihad? It is normal for the protagonist's superiors to disapprove of the deaths of several innocent lives in the execution of the mission.
Believing in something makes you rely on it, but sometimes it is confusing; not believing in anything, sometimes it feels empty, but sometimes it simplifies complicated things.
Therefore, sending a Chinese person to perform such a task may make the task more resolute; and sending such a person with firm beliefs to perform such a task will undoubtedly make the film more engaging and thought-provoking.

Traitor quotes

  • Max Archer: [Referring to the bomber captured in Spain] This guy's gotta be in a state of shock. He planned on waking up in Paradise to 72 virgins. Blow yourself up to get laid, this is gotta be some crazy s**t!

Roy Clayton: Where I grew up the Klan burned crosses in front of people's houses and called it Christianity. Then my daddy and the folks from the church would drive over and put them out. Seems every religion has more than one face.

  • Samir Horn: [defying FBI agents] The only difference between you and him is he *knows* he's an asshole.
