over the wall

A very good film, telling the story of the fall of the Berlin Wall. It is very touching. It is not the kind of high-spirited fighting spirit, but it is very touching and touching.
In fact, I didn't have too much expectation for the film before watching it, I thought it was another movie about politics, with a dark and gloomy tone. Who would have thought that this film would warm up such a heavy topic. In this way, the commemoration of an era is completed, which transcends ideology and transcends the nation-state. It's not a majestic epic, but it's awe-inspiring. This is "Goodbye Lenin", there is family affection, love, faith, betrayal, white lies, cruel truth, the warmth and warmth of people's hearts, the changes of history, can I expect more from a movie?

The original German title of the film is: "Continuation of the GDR in a 79-square-meter room". In the film, the hero's father fled to West Berlin when he was a child, and his mother was a staunch Communist. In a rally, the mother was injured and comatose, and when she woke up, society had undergone great changes. In order to protect her mother from being greatly stimulated, the male protagonist created the illusion that a GDR still existed to her mother by making TV news by herself.
It is clear that the "social upheaval" mentioned in the film refers to the fall of the Berlin Wall.

The fall of the Berlin Wall not only meant the liberation of imprisoned freedom, but also meant that the huge economic gap between the two Germanys began to close, so things from West Germany, which were economically high, poured into East Germany like a waterfall, forgive me Said "things" because I really don't know how to sum it up, what I want to say is all aspects, East Germany rushed in.
In the film, the protagonist's mother is still in danger after she wakes up and cannot be too stimulated. For this male protagonist, he kept the last bit of time and space in East Germany in his own home. But there are more and more vehicles on the street, huge Coca-Cola banners, luxury furniture made in West Germany, TV shows in West Germany. . . . . . Everything has changed. The hero had to make up one funny but touching lie after another to comfort his mother. One of the most imaginative lies is asking former East German astronauts to play the role of national leaders to explain the reasons for "opening the borders of East Germany", that is, the reasons for the demolition of the Berlin Wall. This is of course the hero's last way to appease his mother's suspicions. When the scene of East Germans swarming into West Germany after the fall of the Berlin Wall appeared on TV, the disguised leader explained that it was West Germans rushing to society. It was a well-intentioned mistake, a moving mistake. It attempts to convince, at least one person, that the economy is not everything, and that the power of faith is great and can make people flock to it.
Of course that was a beautiful mistake, a white lie made up by a lovely and filial son for his mother. What really happened was that the huge gap in the economy was pushing aspirants to overcome obstacles and come to West Germany with a developed economy and thick walls.

Today, more and more of our drifters are also repeating this story. There are relatively poor hometowns pouring into wealthy big cities, overcoming impregnable walls and difficulties.
But in my heart, I will always keep cherishing, nostalgic and saying goodbye to the past. This is why the fall of the Berlin Wall caused so much emotional turmoil in the German people, because the Berlin Wall not only means imprisonment and restriction, but also their relationship with history. , the umbilical cord connected to the previous era.
I was moved by what the protagonist said at the end of the film: "The GDR may not be perfect, but she is our mother and our roots."
