great work

A great work must have a great vision, a great realm, and a great skill. This film has these three greats.
Let’s talk about great vision and great realm first. Regarding the Civil War, we tend to tend to the mainstream view, one-sided, and make a simple either-or judgment. However, this film largely restores the truth of history, allowing people to see Inferiority of blacks (as before seeing the inferiority of whites).
As for the great realm, this film offers too many things, especially in terms of storytelling, comic handling, and emotional mobilization of the audience, all of which are remarkable.

Ah, what a long three hours. During the process, I have to stop and bite my mouth and clench my fists from time to time. Even a pure East Asian yellow-skinned person can be so angry that he can imagine the mood of African Americans. All the technical innovations—dolly track, breathing space and emotional touch on camera, close-ups of characters, even neutral animal races (Griffith really loves animals as human symbolizers)—are just to convey: "WE are so much better than YOU", disgusting. The state legislature was so torture, that "not my race" malice was about to overflow the screen. No wonder Oscar Micheaux responded directly with Within Our Gates [【What's even more amazing is that more than a hundred years later, this phrase is still applicable in contemporary society. this race is so fucked up

Griffith fabricated the birth of the racist America. Incendiary, Griffith even reversed what whites did to blacks and is still happening today. In Griffith's narrative, the United States was born out of the victory of the North and South whites over the blacks, and the KKK is a national meritorious service. Writing the film in the history of film and praising its greatness is tantamount to justifying racism in disguise and making it the spiritual pillar of racists. Some people have already questioned that it was the racism controversy in this film that magnified its influence, leading later generations to imitate its methods, that is, racism makes it great. The most distorted part of this film is that you unconsciously regard the KKK as a hero of justice and feel excited about its victory. This is extremely disgusting to me. In theory, we can't criticize Griffith's time limitations and objectively evaluate the film's technique and influence, but should I go to him?
