Peaceful movie

Although it is not my favorite Ghibli work, "I Hear the Waves" has its own unique taste. The story of the film is a peaceful nostalgia for youth, which contains friendship, affection, and the plain and green taste of life. The main line of the story is obviously an unreleased, looming first love, but it is not just that simple. It is also intertwined with all kinds of thoughts, troubles and dreams brought about by this youth. A boy from the countryside meets a girl from the city, and the love grows from scratch, from shallow to deep, and goes through the last years of their respective adolescence. Mutual improvement of character, found ideals and goals. But this feeling has been buried in the bottom of my heart and I don't know it, but it was not until graduation that this feeling came to the front, and the two met again and knew each other. The film feels similar to the impression given by the soft tones of Murakami's "Norwegian Wood". Compared with other Ghibli films, similar to "Listen to the Side" and "The Fairy Tale of the Years", they are all love stories in the real world. However, the overall atmosphere seems to be lighter and livelier than the above two films, perhaps due to the BGM rendering. The storyline is more realistic than the above two, and the theme is more concentrated, and the camera lens follows the protagonist from beginning to end and lacks expansion. Compared with "Listening with Side Ears", it seems a bit bland and not full (this is also related to the style of painting), and it is less romantic than "A Fairy Tale of the Years". However, it has a mild taste. Although there are no ups and downs, there are no twists and turns, but isn't the ideal of youth like this - to live peacefully, to have some friends, to secretly like people, to have troubles, to have dreams, and to have a future worth looking forward to. It is worth mentioning that there is also the ending song, which is very light and peaceful, which is in line with the meaning of the whole movie.
