I watched the movie and read a lot of people's comments.
How do I think Stark is a good guy who believes in what he believes in? The so-called corruption and scandal are the masterpieces of Saidy and Fatty around him. I guess they are insiders of Stark's political enemy Murphy. In fact, Jack's first love never had an affair with Stark, which is why she gave Jack a slap in the face! Jack finally realized that he had been tricked by Saidy and Fatty, but Adam had already been tricked into thinking that Stark had framed him. So in the end, the death of Stark and Adam was a tragic ending, showing that only those in power can control the country, and the people can never make their own decisions.

All the King's Men quotes

  • Jack Burden: To find something, anything, a great truth or a lost pair of glasses, you must first believe there would be some advantage in finding it. I found something a long time ago, and have held on to it for grim death ever since. I owe my success in life to it; it put me where I am today. This principle: what you don't know, won't hurt you. They called it idealism in a book I read.

  • Jack Burden: [to Anne, explaining what happened to his marriage] A lot of tangled bedclothes and unspoken loathing, then spoken loathing and no tangled bedclothes.
