Madman's two products

Recently, I have become more acquainted with lunatics, even watching pirated VCDs. One night last week, I found "Shining Style" and "Beautiful Mind" at the same time in the disc shop, so I bought them together. "Shining Demeanor" has long been known to me, but I have always kept it away. It is said that the film tells the story of a lunatic pianist. I am not a fan of musicians, let alone a lunatic? Back then, I also wanted to strengthen my music training, and I bought Beethoven's "Destiny" to listen to. The music is good, but since I bought it, it has been very unlucky for a while. Based on the Chinese mysticism philosophy and pragmatism, I have since dispelled the idea of appreciating Western music. Therefore, my level of appreciation of music so far is only a little bit on "Eighteen Touches". Now that I want to appreciate the story of a pianist, I really can't lift my energy.

The situation in "Beautiful Mind" is similar, Nash is a mathematician. All science students should be the kind of aspirations like iron and steel. When I entered the coffin, I had to sit up halfway, and said to the guests: "Tell the owner of the coffin shop that his carpenter needs to make two more precise points." Nash in "Beautiful Mind" went crazy. This is a serious violation. A matter of principle. Just as a Taoist died of alcoholism, a priest died of AIDS. But she couldn't stand the repeated persuasion of a female classmate, saying that Nash was very Sexy and Charming. It is not necessary to watch lunatics, but it is reasonable to watch Sexy and charming lunatics.

So I bought the two films back for 18 yuan, pirated. The boss also added a piece of "Unparalleled Under Heaven".

I saw it at 2:30 in one breath, and I was very satisfied. The story between the pianist David and his Jewish father is somewhat reminiscent of the relationship between Fu Cong and Fu Lei. Fu Lei was also famous for being strict with his children, but Fu Cong was not crazy. David went crazy because he wanted to fulfill his father's dream---playing "Rachmaninoff Piano No. 3". Fu Lei is better than David's father because he is more rational and not paranoid than the latter, although he is a bit like Zhuge Liang. There is no detail in the family book, and it is full of words and words. David is not so lucky. Dad wants him to be a winner every day and he is not allowed to go to foreign countries to study at home. When he finally rebelled against his father's authority and went to the Royal Academy of Music to finish his studies, his father's shadow remained lingering. Finally, when he was about to prove himself with Rasan, he went crazy under tremendous psychological pressure.

David's later story is a bit similar to Mr. Mo Da. He braved the rain to find a piano in the city, with a cigarette dangling from his mouth and ugly black eyes on his face. The whole person looked stunned and mad. When he entered the bar and tried his fingering skillfully, everyone was completely conquered by him. With music in hand, where is David a down-and-out middle-aged man? Obviously, Mo Da's eyes flickered, and the sword in the piano flicked.

The thing that impressed me the most was that when he just fell ill, the camera gave a close-up of his hand---the owner of the hand was completely unaware, but the right hand was still playing frantically on the bed sheet. There are many crazy people in the world, but few crazy geniuses. Even if the genius is crazy, he still resides in the favorite part of his inner world. Music has surpassed David's life. No matter what situation he is in, music will always be the only one in his life, which is awe-inspiring. If on the contrary, life exceeds music, people will be crazy. That is probably what Buddhism said: "I can't ask for suffering"---I hope to use music to prove my life. This kind of person is at best a master craftsman. The master craftsman is crazy, and all people have is sympathy.

Nash in "Beautiful Mind" is also a lunatic, he has no experience in art, he is a genius in mathematics, and won the Nobel Prize. Nash is a real person and a real thing, this gentleman is still in the world today. He established the mathematical foundation of game theory when he was in his 20s, but then he went crazy for thirty years.

I really like the episode of his mental illness in the film. When he first entered Princeton, because he was not gregarious, he created a good friend by himself. This person understands Nash's heart very well, and has always encouraged and comforted him. After graduation, Nash did not find a girlfriend---his personality flaws made him difficult in interpersonal communication, so he created the niece of a college friend, a very cute girl, to satisfy his desire for family life. Later, in the context of the Cold War, he imagined an undercover agent who entrusted him to serve the United States and analyze the codes that existed in magazines. All this led to his serious psychological barriers and formed a split personality.

For decades, he has been troubled by these three people. He knew they were not real, but he was unable to convince himself to believe it, because they would appear in front of him at any time. Until one day, the little niece stretched out his hand to hold him, and he suddenly realized that none of this was true---they did not become senile with the passage of time! Nash rushed out of the house, stopped in front of his wife who was about to drive away from home, and was almost killed by the car. The rain drenched his hair, he stared at his wife and children behind the car window, and said in his vague tone: "I understand, they are not real. Because they have not grown old!"

I like this paragraph very much. I feel that this embodies the greatness of mankind. A person still does not give up any possibility of turning for the better even in such a decayed and chaotic state of the spiritual world. In the frenzy and desperate struggle, he did not give up the light of reason, nor did he give up the ability of an intelligent creature to observe and speculate on the world. When he observes the illusion generated in his heart, he can still notice that they are not aging with the passing of light at any time, which proves that they are illusory and unreal. This is deeply moving, and because he, like him, is called himself Proud of the name of mankind. Even if he is crazy, he insists on using reason. People are weak because of the flesh, but strong because of reason.

This fascinating charm has nothing to do with the humanities, it is the unique light of reason. When Nash was dating his girlfriend, he was clumsy and could not express his feelings like a liberal arts student. With the help of the sky full of stars, he stood behind his girlfriend, holding his girlfriend's hands, pointing at the stars in the sky one by one. In his silent guidance, a huge Scorpio slowly emerged from the disorderly dots of stars, the giant claws were cold and the tail hooked like a moon. The two embraced, the stars swayed, and the silent romance in the infinite tranquility and eternity flooded the world---the romance of science students has been so persistent! No wonder my picky female classmate would say that he is SEXY and CHARMING.

It's amazing to watch the two films together. David tried to bring his life closer to the music he loves, and went crazy. Finally, with the help of music and love, she stood up again; the mathematical work that Nash was engaged in was abstract and complicated, and many functions of normal people needed to be turned off to save energy. Because of this autism and the desire for friendship and affection in human nature, he finally went mad. In the end, it is still love and reason, bringing him back to his beloved world. One is an artistic genius and the other is a scientific genius, but their journeys are so similar.

On the way to climb the peak of human art and science, this requires a person to have a peaceful inner world. But we are always bound by our physical bodies, and our spiritual world sets off infinite terrifying stormy waves, even burying ourselves in the midst of it. This is the fate of a tragic hero, as well as the fate of mankind, just as people can never understand themselves. However, relying on the weak human wisdom and unique human emotions, people can swim out of the chaotic inner world and get closer to the misty mountains. The greatness of man lies here.

Patience to see the highlights, classic psychology films. Biopics can also be so good-looking, especially the final farewell scene with the little girl, which is heartbreaking.

This kind of film (including "Mind Catcher") is full of stereotype fantasies about theorists (and mentally ill patients and family members in this film), and is a "kangzhuang" astray from the ignorance of the original author. They personally spread the anti-intellectual trend to the world~

A Beautiful Mind quotes

  • Nash: This class will be a waste of your - and what is infinitely worse - my time.

  • Charles: Mathematics... mathematics is never going to lead you to higher truth and you know why? Because it's boring!
