The role of the prequel is to add some supplements to the things that the previous movies failed to explain. There is no need for any major breakthroughs in the plot and design. The focus is still on explaining the plot. Cube0 has done a good job on this point. Some of the questions in the game have also been added, but I still haven't explained too much about the background and the origin of the cube. Maybe it will be explained in cube3.
The original identity of the silly genius in 1 was also explained. I really liked him when I watched it at the time. Other plots, such as how the cube between cube1 and cube2 evolved, were not explained, and I don’t know how cube3 will be. Such a story design, but I still think the silly genius in 1 and the woman in 0 are not dead and will land in 3, haha.
