A full-five point is worth 3.5 points.
This film is a humorous comedy adapted from a real story, so it will be exaggerated in some places, and it feels like a spy movie.
Say a few things that I am more impressed:
One is that at the beginning of the film, Hoagie, who has a doctorate degree, went to a private company to apply for a job as a cleaner, just to get close to Callahan (of course, he did express to the interviewer that "As long as I can get close to Callahan, I'm willing to do anything"), Then after the two of them met, Callahan even gave up the very important interview with his company and himself at the time, and started their "catch game" together.
One is that everyone caught Jerry, but failed several times. Although I don’t know what Jerry is like in reality, from the film’s point of view, this person really did a lot of work in order not to be caught, from fighting skills, various plans and tricks, collusion with various friends, etc. Do everything to extremes. (Sable also said during the rehearsal that Jerry almost drowned in order to win the underwater game when he was a child) It was too extreme, too aggressive.
One is that Cheryl's appearance reflects the trust issue between them. Callahan didn’t block the door and went on a date with Cheryl alone at a critical time during the rehearsal (although he may not be able to block the door). He turned back and told everyone that he certainly has a business in Beijing to deal with. At night, everyone wants it together. Going to Jerry's gym to find him, Randy excuses that his injury will drag him down, but he is dating Cheryl alone in the bar. Including the footage in the church, Jerry's fiancee pretended to have a miscarriage and colluded with other friends to post the cancellation of the wedding on social networking sites. (Jerry is indeed extreme)
These adults are indeed playing games, but they do regard this game as life. For example, Randy went bankrupt and divorced because of the game trouble, Sable gave up psychotherapy and took two weeks of unpaid leave because of the game. However, for the protagonists, this game running between them can bring them better things.
