Movies may be boring and even difficult for laymen to understand. I also feel it vaguely by the plot.
First, the story points directly to legal issues in the United States. It looks like there is a legal responsibility for everything, as long as you can afford a lawyer. The question is what does a lawyer do? What does the judge do? Everyone is for efficiency. For example, the so-called successful lawyers actually lied to their employers when they encountered difficult lawsuits and said, "You better plead guilty, and I can help you apply for a lower punishment." In this way, the lawyer's fee is obtained, and it is easy and effortless, and it doesn't matter whether the "criminal" is really guilty or not, and whether he should be punished like that. As for the judge, anyway, he is on the side of the police and the monitoring officer. Obviously, "the police have controlled the criminal", but it can be assumed that there is no such thing, and when the protagonist (lawyer) stands up and points out the problem, he will impose a fine on the protagonist. It's a matter, anyway, the court has the final say.
Therefore, the protagonist actually represents the law and justice. He was full of dissatisfaction with the entire legal system and procedures, and insisted on fighting, but there was nothing he could do. Why? The key is that he is not famous enough, because he has an extreme personality and does not know how to be euphemistic. He was originally just doing data investigation and preparation work as a "behind the scenes lawyer"; but his former front-office partner - a famous lawyer, the owner of a law firm fell ill. What's more, his partner also insists on justice with the protagonist, so the law firm does not make any money at all.
Secondly, it directly points to the characteristics of the upper class in the United States - profit-seeking and unscrupulous means. The new boss found that although the protagonist is sloppy and unknown, he is proficient in law, has an amazing memory, and is strong in arguing and persuading. So I hired him first. The reason is that he was able to "win clients" even when defending low-level black criminals. However, when the protagonist, like Monkey King, contradicts the judge, contradicts his partner, and brings trouble to himself, he will cast a spell.
Finally, there is the contradiction of the protagonist's character. He insisted on justice, but the boss who had been working happily before fell ill, or even died, the office was closed, and he was fired by the boss's daughter. So, with perfect cooperation, the job of serving the people at the bottom is completely lost. After that, he searched for a job, but couldn't find it. When he found a job, he had to "stick to profit first". So, he opened up against his conscience and prepared to live a good life. Since he can't help the "innocent" (as a witness in the shooting case, he knows where the real criminal is hiding, but even if he is willing to tell where the criminal is and testify, he still can't really reduce the crime and still faces ten years in prison), So he simply told the criminals where to hide, and then took the 100,000 bonus, started a good day, took a vacation, had some good food, bought a few designer suits, and then bought a luxury house... More importantly, he began to change He made his face and was ready to stab at the customer. However, he found that he could not be happy. why? Because he thinks he has betrayed himself, he is in conflict. In the end, he chose to sue himself, sue himself for shamelessness, took a bonus (of course, this itself violated the professional ethics of lawyers), and demanded deportation.
Originally, this was just a paradox, because any conditions for the appeal were met, and the entire petition had sufficient basis, so in the end, the judge would definitely easily convict him and drive him out.
It's just that his new boss was infected by him, and he took his "ideal", the pile of "unjust case" materials, and sent it to the court, ready to be used as his complaint materials. Clearly, the new boss wants to defend him and let everyone know that he is a man of integrity, it's the American legal process, and there's something wrong with the legal system.
What will the future be like? Can he and the new boss become a new combination? Will the US legal process change? Actually, it doesn't make sense, because the mantis arm is the car.
I just heard that a Chinese teacher at my alma mater who is about the same age as me has committed suicide. I am not familiar with what kind of person he is, and I don't even know his name. However, once encountered, heard a description or two, memory is a beard. If I want to stay, I will definitely be denser than him, so I said at the time, I will stay after I retire, and I don't want to be too public. However, he has kept it since a long time ago. He used to be a maverick, and I have no way of knowing what he insisted on and what he denied. But know that he is facing contradictions...
Take this as a memorial. 2022/2/12
