Can you say "love"?
Because of a poignant and gorgeous interlude, and seeing the film with a name that shocks the soul like "Love in a Country", it's hard not to have high expectations for the film. Generally speaking, I feel chaotic and mediocre. The two-line handling linked by auction items is blunt and strange. The connection between the heroine and the Duchess is inexplicable. The two women's views on love and marriage directly refreshed my three views. The work mentioned that love and marriage cannot be generalized, and love and romance cannot be confused. And the way the two heroines looked at things and what they did completely put their own words behind them. This is not a conflict between works of art and historical facts, but a mere reversal of right and wrong, turning black into white. At least the first time I watched it roughly, whether it was the scene design or the shooting technique, some overly deliberate clips lingered in my memory. For example, the small security guard's house is dilapidated, but there are a lot of books on display, and there is even a piano. The security guard's rich personality connotation is compared with that of a psychiatrist. The film deliberately compares the bad with the good, flattening the characters too much. Has the life of the heroine and the doctor ever been without joy and romance? Can she be happy without her husband and live with the security guard? Love and marriage are not flat things. The film is too superficial. We also know why, and if we say too much, it will reveal the fact that it is not perfect. If it is said that the heroine of the 1998 line re-examined her life entirely because of love, then whether the 36-year-old dukes and couples are not necessarily because of love, it is the eve of World War II! Even as a pure work of art, this kind of plot is unethical and bizarre, not to mention it is based on historical facts. I only saw a self-moving escape trip, and a doomed tragic ending amid the repression of public opinion and self-denial. Yes, it's a tragedy, and as a tragedy, it's really sad because of these ridiculous characters, and it also makes people re-examine the relationship between love and life, although this may be contrary to the idea of what the film wants to express .
There are many strange scenes and story designs, the Duke of Windsor did not perform well, and it was not until the sound of the piano that finally came out at the end that he finally breathed a sigh of relief. This may be because I was so disappointed when I watched this film with too strong personal opinions and too high expectations, but there are really few shining points in him. After watching it once, in the end, just like the beginning, only the poignant music at the end can stay in my memory for a long time.
