Wind Chill is an offbeat Christmas movie that is very suitable for young people, especially students. At the beginning of the scene, the heroine was taking the final exam, during which she picked up the Nokia smashing walnut mobile phone and had a text message conversation with her friend. And this mobile phone is quite old now, which makes people sigh. And it's hard for people to use text messages to communicate with each other these days, these are the characteristics of the 3G era. There are also old car models in the film that are hard to see now, the car has not yet been equipped with navigation, and the hero still needs to ask the store for directions. The film was shot in 2007, and now I can feel the obvious technological gap. I think there are several places where this film is worth recalling, and this is one of them.
The dialogues of the characters in the film are also very appropriate, they are all like the pure thoughts of students, such as the heroine applying nail polish in the car and it is not convenient to wear shoes and get out of the car. The heroine responded by carrying her into the store behind her back, secretly inquiring about the girl's preferences and buying her favorite snacks, all of which truthfully reflected that the hero was not good at interpersonal relationships and simply wanted to please the heroine. Boys with character are very easy to be misunderstood. Through a series of clumsy operations of the male protagonist, the girls think that he has no plans, and they can still laugh at each other after they have settled their differences. Watch how the trust between them is produced in a subtle way. Change, when the boy mocks himself for being the kind of idiot who doesn't know how to chase girls, he also successfully relieves the heroine's defense, so the turning point of the first half of the plot is also very reasonable, and the description of male and female characters is not good. Lost plumpness, a big idiot who is always in trouble and a girl who is difficult to deal with, just make a perfect match all day long, and this is the second.
Many scenes in the film can make people nostalgic about the former student life. The film can very well reflect the poverty of the student period, such as the long-distance return home. For those who are working, they can either drive directly or take a car, which costs a few hundred dollars. Car fare or gas money is negligible compared to the whole month's living expenses, but this is not the case for students. Students often only have enough money on them. Only when they are students can they have such a good reason to make their loved ones so good. Hitchhiking just because they both live in the same state. When the male protagonist finds out that the female protagonist accidentally lost the snacks he spent hundreds of dollars on, he can feel what a pity he is. It is not only the expenses, but also the amount of money he spends on it. I hope to get to know the female protagonist well opportunity to get along. This reminds me of when I was studying in the past, I lost some things or lost money. Although the value was not much, I always felt a sense of guilt and felt sorry for the hard work of my parents. Now if I lose something, I can only judge the approximate value of the thing, and buy a new one, so I don't have so much guilt anymore. In the film, when faced with the coercion of the police, the heroine also used this to show her sophistication in front of the boys. She had to handle the matter. She had experience, but the two of them could only take out a total of less than fifty U.S. dollars are used to pay bribes, which makes people smile. I thought that the kind of mind that was young and pure and sharp at the time was a very valuable trait, but now it has been numb and insensitive in the workplace and interpersonal consumption. I thought that through this film, I would be able to experience my youthful state of mind and regain a youthful innocence, which is the third.
The location of this film is very beautiful. It is the kind of place in North America where there are mountains, canyons and snowy scenes along the way. As a southerner who has no chance to see snow, I always feel that the snow is a very exotic scene. And I don't think a good movie has to have a grand narrative. In this film, two students and a car are trapped in the wilderness at minus 30 degrees, and those who do not go to the village or the store behind are already a good background. The subject matter of this film is approachable, it is no longer a hero, or it is about to save the world, it does not necessarily require huge production costs, or a strong cast to be considered a good movie. Being able to properly mobilize the emotions of the audience, projecting them into the situation, feeling the situation of the characters in the play, and being able to imagine how to deal with it if you are in the present moment, will not lose the original intention of the film. This is four.
Furthermore, there is a less terrifying supernatural plot in the play. Although it is not very scary, the supernaturality of the film has a complete storyline, and it will not be desperately scary like a Thai ghost movie just for the sake of horror. All the supernatural origins come from this 606 highway, but in the end, all these stories are told by the driver who rescued the heroine. It is better to let the audience imagine it by themselves. Use your maximum imagination to keep these supernatural events weird and mysterious. On a highway, the past events are repeated over and over again. The police are repeating the process of committing evil and finally becoming a cocoon. The pastor on the mountain is constantly monitoring the police and protecting passers-by. For the male protagonist, he is able to repeat the same process as the female protagonist. Getting along on the road, and finally the experience of warming each other in a small world, although being a ghost, even if it is sad, it is not so desolate, and this is the fifth.
Compared with so many Christmas-related films, this film is indeed an alternative, and even if it is alternative, the holiday atmosphere has not been slightly reduced. The soundtrack of this film can set off the snowy environment, and can resonate with people who feel lonely and sad at Christmas. The joys, sorrows and joys of the world are not connected. Who said that the festival must be very happy, sometimes I just want to be in These remote corners, indifferent to my own loneliness, are the sixth.
To sum up, it may be because of my personal preference that I like some low-budget movies. This article is just my personal opinion, so it’s just a miscellaneous talk and not a professional film review. I think this film is still very good and can give a four-star evaluation.
