The second les film I've seen, the plot is flat, very realistic, always shrouded in a layer of sorrow, and those who like it will like it very much.
The emotional line is the main line, and it is very delicately portrayed. Retired photographer Lucy is old-fashioned sharp, "teenager" Sid has the dullness of immaturity.
Lucy was a little world-weary and was reluctant to restrict herself from taking commercial works, but she could never break through even if she retired. Life is busy, and the "normal world" makes her unable to breathe. She always has a hint of depression, but unlike Greta, even if they also use drugs, Lucy has control, and she won't let herself really fall in. into the abyss.
In Sid's appearance as a light accidentally scattered in the mud, Lucy tries again to return to the "normal world", even trying to cheer Greta up. But even Sid, the destined lover, can't help hysterically stating "We have a deadline". It's always so urgent. It's the reality that is demonstrating, and Lucy is always a little "rescue". Lucy fell in love with Sid uncontrollably, her soft words about sex, and her deer-like intimacy that pierced into her heart. The most fatal thing is Sid's ambition, which is something that only the "normal world" can have. Lucy knows it too well. Like Sid, the famous photographer once was eager for recognition and climbed to the top. But the flood of fame, for Lucy, was just a beast that knocked her down. She was born a genius and born decadent. She was destined to be unable to move forward, but she was unwilling to retreat. At the end, the editor-in-chief's sentence "good job" is the most cruel punishment and the most ruthless humiliation for Lucy.
And Sid, she loves Lucy, and she loves life, a normal life. Lucy made her the editor, and Lucy's love cheered her up as much. Sid couldn't go to the quagmire with Lucy. The two went to the countryside to relax, and when Lucy handed her the drugs, she hurriedly refused. Perhaps Lucy is the fascinating poison, and Sid is the tree of glory, bathing in the sun forever. She walked into the door of the editor's office absentmindedly, but she could no longer enter Lucy's tenderness.
They do not belong to the same world at all, and each other is always so unreachable. Lucy dies of drugs, Sid 'back on track'. Please live a good life in the future, and don't blame the gods for not being beautiful.
