There was a movie last night that kept me awake for so long after watching it that I didn't even know what to do. Pain, depression, despair, anger, helplessness, fear... I could find more negative words to describe the feeling of watching FunnyGames.

The originally happy and peaceful family of three drove to the holiday cabin in the bright sunshine, but they didn't know that they were falling into the trap set by two mental patients step by step, but these two mental patients were innocent, like the boy next door. Temperament: clean face, clean clothes, clean trousers, clean gloves, clean shoes, as well as cautious politeness, polite words and deeds, never imagined what kind of morbid madness hidden under this whiteness , suddenly reminded me of ALEX in "A Clockwork Orange", but ALEX's morbidity is far from the level of the two of them.

The story does not set up any plot, nor does it give any reason. It is different from the Hollywood thriller in the general sense. It can be said that it is not a thriller at all. What I feel is more of a kind of indescribable. is surrounded by tangled emotions rather than thrillers. On the one hand, the father, mother, and son were struggling on the brink of helpless death; on the other hand, two morbid teenagers spoke gentle and polite words. With the climax, I had the urge to rush to the screen and smash it with my fists. The film is to let the audience experience a complete despair, the traditional justice will eventually triumph over evil, and the hope of survival is unceremoniously subverted in this film. When I saw the plot of my mother raising a shotgun to kill one of the sick teenagers, I felt relieved for a while, but the picture suddenly stopped. Bombed by shotgun. Just when I was in a hearty moment, I was hit by a ruthless hammer, and the director seemed to make a funny face for the audience here. There was more of a sense of despair at the moment.

"Why, why is this? Why is it hurting us"? The mother asked desperately and helplessly. why? I also want to know, I have been looking forward to the explanation before the end of the film, but no, we are left to think about human nature, everything started flat, and everything ended flat, no bloody scenes, no Screaming hoarse, no soundtrack, even death is so bland. And then the feeling left to me is not dull, from not being able to fall asleep, to a series of strange nightmares after falling asleep...

ANY WAY, this is a good film.

Funny Games quotes

  • Paul: So, what do you want to do? You want to call someone? An ambulance, or the police? I won't stop you. Neither will Tom. Right, Tom? Well, what are you waiting for?

  • Paul: Okay, let's play another game. It's a guessing game.

[Paul takes out a golf ball]

    Paul: What is this?

[Paul drops the ball on the floor]

    Paul: [to George] Sir?

    George: It's a golf ball.

Paul: Correct! It's a *golf* ball... But why do I have it in my pocket? Hm? The lady knows why. Because... Well?

    [Paul, exasperated, turns to Peter]

    Paul: Well?

Peter: Because you didn't hit it.

Paul: Correct! Because I didn't hit it! And *why* didn't I hit it?

    Peter: Because something stopped you.

Paul: Correct. Because I had to test the club in another way.

Anna: [realizing what has happened] Where is he?
