From a movie standpoint, I'd give it a 4.5, it's a great movie, well structured, with a great score, and a complete story. From the perspective of the characters in the story, I can only say that the male protagonist is really hopeless and ruined his wife's life. Of the three main characters in this film, I think Frankie is the bravest. She is willing to wait for her love, abandon her shyness, and pursue it bravely. Yilan is not so brave, but she understands her responsibilities. She gave up her love for her father and faithfully fulfilled her responsibilities after marriage. She never let her love hurt her family until the end. And the male protagonist is undoubtedly neither courageous nor irresponsible. He loves Yilan, but never tries harder to fight for it. After giving up, he meets Frankie who he doesn't love, and he doesn't have the courage to fight against his mother and decide not to marry Frankie. He didn't tell Frankie that he would never love her or take on family responsibilities before the marriage, which made Frankie think she was married to love. After marriage, he enjoyed the care of Frankie, but refused to take on family responsibilities in the name of "art" or "traditional ideas". Besides, what if the male protagonist and Yilan get married, can he provide Yilan a superior life? His artistic achievements come from the tragedy of love with Yilan. After they are combined, can he still have such artistic achievements? Can he guarantee that after marrying Yilan, the love will not be wiped out in life? The whole film is from a male perspective. Sadly, there are many comments like this. I hope everyone remembers that a movie is a movie, and life is life.
