This show has been very popular since it came out, and I only watched two seasons in one go until recently. But the second season is obviously not as good as the first season. How to say it, the relationship between the characters is not so subtle, and the clues have become clearer. But the first season is really good, everyone is mysterious, and there are intricate relationships behind them.
Keywords: Psychopath. The Chinese translation is very simple and general - mentally ill, but the English interpretation is more precise - someone who has serious mental problems or anti-social personality and who may act in a violent way without feeling sorry for what they have done. (Yes Mental problems or sociopaths who act violently and do not feel sorry for their actions.)
In the first season, it was obvious that the female killer was a psychopath, and she was numb and unconscious when she saw the pictures of killing, and so was the cute little animals, suggesting that she was not afraid of bloody violence, and she was not moved by beautiful things. Killing is not just for the money, but also to get some fun out of it and get others to pay attention to her.
She would pretend to be a window girl and directly show in the window how she killed a target who had a family but came to prostitute. All the process was performed by her as if performing magic on the stage, no matter how hard the living person was pleading.
She has a crush on women with dark curly hair, and she has a crush on Eve, a female detective who is investigating her. She tried her best to secretly leave all kinds of small clues to attract Eve's attention. If Eve hadn't come to investigate, she would have been heartbroken.
The female killer in the first season is cool, highly professional, and high-profile, but she has no ability to love. She can handle hate, but she can't handle love.
Female detective Eve lives an unremarkable life. From time to time, she quarrels with her boss, and she has a husband who loves her. Her genuine love for her job, and her professional sensitivity made her feel that a female killer was slaughtering seemingly unrelated targets. Her superior ability was seen by the high-level, and she was asked to investigate the matter secretly. But in one operation, she lost her longtime boss and friend.
This hatred made her want to find out the female killer and kill her with her own hands. However, in various contests, the two developed an inexplicable affection. All the previous developments seem to be waiting for the two women to end up in the same room. Eve doesn't know what to do, stabs the female killer and almost kills her.
The foreshadowing of the small details in the first season can see the underlying dark side of the psychopath in Eve. She would cut herself with a knife to think and speculate on the killer's psychology. She asked her husband, if you wanted to kill me, what method would you use? Husband who is harmless to humans and animals, pushes down the stairs in confusion?
And Eve said a full set of meticulous methods to kill her husband:
I don't like the second season because the second season directly extends these foreshadowings, focusing on shaping Eve into a psychopath, while the female killer with the full image of the perverted killer in the first season is very dry and become a small follower in the second season. There is a lot less wonderful interaction between two people who know each other exists, seduce and hurt each other.
Sandra Oh's acting is so good, I thought I would make plays from time to time because I thought she looked like Lin Yongjian, but Sandra used her superb acting skills to interpret the serious, sad, confused, and charming charm of a woman. Smart is new sexy. Smart brains are the sexiest.
After checking, I found that the screenwriter of the first season was Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag's screenwriter and starring), and the screenwriter of the second season was changed, and Phoebe stopped writing. I have to admire Phoebe's talent, the first season is so beautiful!
