In terms of simply evaluating the plot, I think the filming is very good, despair, hope, disappointment, perseverance, and somewhat educative when faced with adversity. The actors are also great, I especially like Duveen, he plays that state of panic, nervous breakdown, with his blue eyes, it's amazing. The protagonist's performance of eating insects is also very good, and he really tastes the feeling of peerless deliciousness. There is also the part about the blood-sucking leech. It feels like a real leech is used. The two of them are too dedicated.
The segment where Duveen died was cut for no apparent reason.
Finally, let’s discuss the general background. The US military is supporting South Vietnam to divide Vietnam. Like the Korean War, it cannot be called a division of justice. But looking at this film alone, it does beautify the U.S. military and vilify the Vietnamese army.
