I really don't know how to evaluate this movie for a while~
Just the name makes me twist and turn for a long time~~ (Later I saw other people's film reviews and found out that it really has a history)
Seeing everyone gave four stars and five stars in unison, I became more and more uneasy ~

I really don’t understand it~ I fell asleep for a while during this period, and I woke up brightly when my sister and brother were there~ I was

busy switching between the subtitles of the dialogue screen, the screen was too big for me, still My eyes are too small?

For me, the feeling of the film is private, I
watch it non-figuratively, and suddenly other images pop up in my mind, and there are a few thoughts
that these are unspeakable or need to be framed and then I quack. Haw Haw can make a comment.

So what kind of reviews do you need for this movie? ?

The plot adopts a progressive narrative method, advanced and obscure, but the core belief problem is highlighted with the onset of the illness only halfway through the movie. It seems that the atmosphere and logic are asymmetry, which is really inadequate, just like AN Lundkewei Stur’s evaluation: (Bergman) seems to pin his beliefs on inspiration and art as much as possible, like a kind of self-sufficient magic, but then he put on a layer of misleading to a certain extent Maybe it’s just to prevent yourself from exposing too much... The unclear content and purpose often lead to Bergman’s movies uncomfortable but interesting, seductive and challenging. The reason is precisely because of this. Vagueness, this is the dilemma of art, which not only pushes him forward, but also risks being dragged down, because this is both his strength and his weakness

It's another work that makes me feel stretched. The way of speaking and behavior lacks the breath of life, and it is more literary and dramatic. The last point is that love is God, and if there is love around, there is God around.

Through a Glass Darkly quotes

  • Martin: You're empty but capable. And now you're trying to fill your void with Karin's extinction. But how will God fit into that? It must make him more inscrutable than ever!

  • Fredrik: Father, I'm scared. When I was hugging Karin in the boat, reality was revealed. Do you know what I mean?

    David: I do.

Fredrik: Reality was revealed, and I collapsed. It's like a dream. Anything can happen. Anything.

    David: I know.

Fredrik: I can't live in this new world.

David: Yes, you can. But you must have a support.

Fredrik: What kind of support? You mean a God? Give me a proof of his existance. You can't.

David: I can. But you gotta pay attention to what I say.

Fredrik: Yes. I need to listen.

David: I can only tell you a thought of my own hopes. It is to know that love exists for real in the human world.

Fredrik: A sort of special love, I suppose?

David: All kinds of it. The bigger and the smaller, the most absurd one and the most sublime one. All kinds of love.

Fredrik: What about the desire for love?

David: Desire and denying. Trust and distrust.

Fredrik: Then love is the proof?

David: I don't know if love is the proof of God's existance or if it's God itself.

Fredrik: To you, love and God are the same thing.

David: That thought makes me feel less empty; Makes my desperation less worse.

    Fredrik: Go on, dad.

David: All of a sudden, emptiness turns into abundance, and desperation turns into life. It's like a temporary death's sentence strike.

Fredrik: Dad... if it's like how you say it is, then God is all over Karin. We love her so much.

    David: Yes.

    Fredrik: Can't that help her?

    David: I think so.
