Godard's Avant-Garde Works

As the name suggests, it's a crazy crime drama.

Although the male protagonist is married, he hates the extravagant life, so he decides to wander freely with the female protagonist and start the act of killing people and stealing goods. But in the end, it was discovered that the heroine's real lover was someone else, and she couldn't help burning with anger. After killing the heroine, she also detonated a bomb and died.

The whole film is full of absurd madness, and the hero and heroine's murder is overkill, which is downplayed, as if their rampage and domineering were not punished by anyone. At the same time, the film has an atmosphere of wanting to escape, escaping from a luxurious life, escaping from this rampant murder. Maybe books and poetry and death are their relief.

Although the expression of this film is pioneering, it makes it difficult for viewers to understand what the director wants to express. However, the freedom revealed in this film, as well as the disgust for luxury life and the contempt for violent behavior, made it a lot higher than the idea at that time, which can be called an avant-garde work.

But from the point of view of an ordinary movie viewer, it is true that the viewing experience is not good. I may have to wait for me to study and learn, and I can give a higher evaluation when I appreciate this movie again.
