addition to being surprised that there were so many church scandals, it should be even more surprising that they all ended in an out-of-court agreement. This means that the previous surprise is not worthy of surprise afterwards.
More importantly, why.
Okay, let me talk about a few things about "Child Abuse
Suspect ": Why did the old nun confront the priest immediately when there was only one untenable suspicion?
Why does the boy's mother want to pretend not to know when she knows that her son has been harassed or even violated?
Why didn't the old nun wait until there was conclusive evidence and drove the priest out of the church, but only asked him to voluntarily resign and be promoted?
Why did the boy’s mother hint at a lot of the truth about the old nun, but the old nun didn’t mention a word when confronting the priest, or even admitted that she was only subjectively suspicion?
Why does the old nun suddenly cry at the end of the film?
Let’s start with the sentence "Maybe some of the boys want to get caught!" A mother who survives at the bottom of society, even if she knows that her son is obsessed with priests, she would rather ignore her, because she feels that compared to her son being bullied in a public school, at least the priest can give him a more "happy" childhood. She repeatedly mentioned her son's "Nature", which seemed to be a suitable reason. Therefore, the plot described in the film is not "child abuse" like the translated name. To put it bluntly, a boy with an Electra and a man with a pedophile seem to be "happiness" made in heaven and should not be blamed and judged.
But this is not like homosexuality or unethical love, which can only be tolerated because of moral controversy. The priest tried to seek forgiveness from the old nun, saying that some things were beyond your comprehension, and I gave him happiness. The old nun said to him firmly, why? Just because you smiled at him and gave him mercy? You are a liar. The pleasure you get from the boy's trusting eyes is not a comforting happiness, it can be obtained from any drunkard!
So the essence of pedophilia, as the old nun pointed out in a burst of blood, is a deception, deceiving a person for a long life in the future. If every normal person of us feels some regret or even sadness because of our first love, and decides the direction of our life’s love based on this, then those adults who seduce children will have no place to forgive, because the deceived have no choice in the face of harm. Ability.
I can understand people with pedophiles, because it is so difficult for a person to resist his "Nature". But if a person knows his nature, it will bring harm to others, at least out of conscience, he should not indulge himself. At the beginning of the most exciting confrontation between the old nun and the priest, the old nun asked, "What are you doing in this school? Even more to the point, what are you doing in the priesthood?" Unforgivable sin.
The old nun said at the end, I will not sympathize with you, because you have absolutely no real guilt from your heart. If we look back and listen to the priest's sermon on "doubt" at the beginning of the film, we will lament that the old nun really "know people". Not only did she feel the priest's evil from this sermon, she was also convinced that he was not ashamed of it. So she knows that even if there is sufficient evidence to expose the priest, she cannot expect him to reflect and change. Moreover, she does not want those "full evidence" to really appear. All she had to do was protect the children, and she did it successfully and perfectly.
At the end of the film, the old nun suddenly burst into tears, saying that she was actually full of doubts, very doubts. She didn't actually confirm as she had shown before. But she still has no hesitation to protect her child, even if she pays any heavy price. Just as she trembles and clasps the cross, shouting "I will do what needs to be done though I'm damned to hell!" I think this is the great thing about this old nun: she knows that her mission is not just to be loyal The church is not just loyal to God, but guards its belief in justice and conscience.
