The gloomy weather at the beginning, the solemn and mysterious atmosphere of the church, made people worry that something terrible would happen. There is a faint feeling that the subject matter related to religion is always easy to cause controversy, but this film finally proved that it is a problem that each of us has or will face. The sister played by Meryl knew it was the type of my primary school principal, serious, strict, and stubborn. In fact, sometimes there is such a feeling: the more stubborn people on the surface, the more vulnerable they are in their hearts. Will Meryl also be this type of Sister? When she called Donald's mother to school, and under the tearful pleading of this mother, she still insisted on her own opinions and refused to let this matter go. By then, I think Meryl is a stubborn Sister. However, at the end of the film, Meryl's eyes were full of confusion and fear, saying that she also had doubts. At this point, I once again confirmed my idea that the more stubborn people are, the more vulnerable they are.
If I also experience this story, I believe I will be sister james. I think many people will be her. I cling to the faith that has been instilled in my heart, but cannot resist the desire for beauty and freedom that human nature itself produces. Under the influence of another stronger soul yearning for freedom and happiness, it will be shaken. Under the conflict between this existing belief and the new secret desire in the heart, the doubt arises. In the end, the film did not give how to deal with Doubt, including the priest's sermon, did not give the final answer, but only affirmed the widespread existence of Doubt. Perhaps this is because everyone has a different answer.
It takes a strong heart and superhuman strength to stick to the beliefs inherent in your heart. Having a free soul and accepting new ideas anytime and anywhere also requires a price and a price. Both ways of thinking and judging the world require a strong mentality and preparation for sacrifice. If you are not strong enough, then perhaps you will face the confusion and pain caused by doubt.
