Craig Craig, a 16-year-old boy who often imagined his own death, was admitted to a mental hospital after trying various drugs to no avail. There, he befriends a naughty Bobby who has committed suicide several times but never died, meets a special girl Noelle, and of course, a lot of "abnormal people". During their lives in the hospital, they gradually found the meaning of life, especially Bob Dylan's lyrics "He Not Busy Being Born Is Busy Dying" gave them great strength and allowed them to regain the courage to face stress of life. In the end, can Craig, who is discharged from the hospital, let his hazy life see sunshine again, and how will he find a relaxed and fulfilling life? Based on Ned Vizzini's novel of the same name, the film was shot at a college prep school and a hospital in Brooklyn.
