Doubt is the same as faith, priests and nuns are the same

The priest’s speech on "Doubt" in the opening of the film is something, just like Sister Ai suspected, there must be something from which it comes out. That is, this doubt has already happened in the priest's heart. , God is dead, and some sins cannot be escaped by confession. This was seen in the priest's many eloquent eyes, and he weakly warned the nun not to intervene. His overexcited and angry self-protection had long been revealed. What he did was not what he did alone.

Sister Ai is obviously a traditional Catholic with strict precepts. A group of black-clothed women sat quietly, not daring to have a bite left after eating; this and the priests were laughing and drinking and talking about women at a gorgeous banquet. The montage effect of the stitching of the two lenses magically strengthened the old and new religious forces in a church school. Contrast. However, in the end, even if the winner is divided in this small school-in the larger world, the winner is determined by the bishop. The truth is buried in every school. It will always exist only in the whispers of nuns, the gossip flying in the sky like feathers, and not in any official records of the church. Finally, it disappeared from the campus with the strong wind.

From this perspective, Sister Ai and Father Ai, who seem to be on opposite sides of the "truth", are actually just lambs lost in this crisis of faith. One was slowly moving from firmness to loss, and the other tried to conceal his loss, but was constantly forced to face it. So in his reflection, he discovered that doubt, like faith, is a powerful force that connects everyone together. It's just that this connection is depressing, and everyone is in it. Inextricable.

So the opening speech of "Doubt" was actually quite meaningful. I was quite touched by what the priest said at the time, knowing that it must have a lot to do in the latter part.
