There are thousands of magicians in the world, but most of them are swindlers, and Stanley belongs to the group with real skills. Although he is British, he is very good at performing oriental magic. Stanley also carried out a "magic crackdown" business, driving out the black sheep in the industry one by one. One day, Stanley came to France and met a girl named Sophie. Sophie claimed to be a psychic who could communicate with the dead. The unbelieving Stanley immediately decided that Sophie was lying, so she became Stanley's next "prey". Who knows that with the passage of time, the quirky Sophie gradually shakes Stanley's will, and Stanley finds himself fascinated by this mysterious girl.

Magic in the Moonlight quotes

  • Stanley: I have irrational positive feelings for Sophie Baker.

  • George: I had an interesting chat with Mr. Taplinger, as he's called. I'd say he has a classic neurotic personality disorder. Brilliant parents who didn't get along, closer to his aunt than his mother, obsessed with mortality, believes in nothing, finds life to have no meaning. Just a perfect depressive, with everything sublimated into his art, and he is quite an artist. He began as an escape artist. Interesting choice if anyone ever wanted to escape from reality. But, like Freud, he will not permit himself to be seduced by childish thoughts just because they're more comforting. Very unhappy man. I like him.
