Touch Forster's book with Ivory's hand

American directors have always been full of brilliance and novelty. As soon as these films appeared, they hit people's attention violently; perhaps because of the over-mature business environment, those directors who are clean and unskilled in the United States mostly hide in the dark, or are covered by shadows. Or even as soon as it emerges, it is baked into ashes by the sun. Of course, there are also people with great wisdom and courage who broke through, and Ivory is one of them.

If there was only one word to describe Forster's novels, it would be "fresh and elegant." In my eyes, Forster's book has a little girl's coquettish attitude, a little shy, a little confused, coupled with the occasional bravery and perseverance, which combine to form a kind of simple bewitching, and all of these are perfectly captured by Ivory's camera. show out.

The tones of this film are basically warm, with a taste of distant mountains and daisies. The warm yellow and the vigorous green express the leisure and comfort of our age long ago. In that era, because of the lack of entertainment facilities, love became particularly important, and it also had a lazy temperament to fall in love. The love at that time was an extravagant afternoon tea party in the sunny suburbs, and a shy kiss by an unpolluted lake, and Ivory reproduced this scene in a pure manner.

What's even more rare is that Ivory has realized the collision between the pretentious and unpretentious, the conflict between releasing the mind and suppressing desire in the drama "Look", which is very British. British movies are arrogant and sultry, and it is precisely Forster that gives us such a feeling, indifferent but not powerless, with destiny in pursuit.

The pictures of "Looking" are very layered, just like the three-dimensional paintings that I saw when I was a child. Apart from being vivid, it makes people want to find out more.

Another unique feature of the film is the pictures with words that appear from time to time. A picture with a short sentence is like a chapter in a novel, short, lively and interesting. Every time a picture appears, it gives me the illusion of a silent film, as if the time is suddenly reversed, and it seems that I have been reading a book, which is illusory.

Of course, all the compliments above are based on liking. I think that anyone who likes Forster's books will like this movie, and I don't recommend watching it for people who don't like peaceful and warm little dramas.
