Red saumon and green cucumber

At the beginning of my watching ,i was almost totally to be made to think that this movie is produced by Quentin Tarantino. It's so obviously similar to sinister-gang's style productions of Mr.Tarantino.

Sinister gang + copious lins + disordered clues +orient cultural element=philosophic meditation

All these important elements consist a fantastic particualr story and an independent role who sticks to his illusion and his conviction. A weak power resists the world-wild's change. That's the dignity of the man's persisting object. Our killer accomplished his a series of cruel and revenge massacre and creat a touching ending for obtaining his dignity.Actually it's not a dramtical story neither a rare one.we can find much inspiration from the other movies like Léon.But it's particular because of its mixture of the occident back groud and the orient spirit.

But the importance of my discussion is not to conment this movie and just for observing the japanese culture.

Why our small neighbor can establish its identifing cultural symbol even though all of them are issu from the ours? Why the occident people can recognize the japanese philosopy when they think about the chrysanthemum and the knives?

In recent years , the chinese finance has produced many economic miracles .But we did not creat any new modern conceptions or any systems of consciousness .The japense conveys their effectness and tight collaboration to the world .

So in one word,i like saumon!Halo~~~

Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai quotes

  • [first lines]

Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai is found in death. Meditation on inevitable death should be performed daily. Every day when one's body and mind are at peace, one should meditate upon being ripped apart by arrows, rifles, spears, and swords. Being carried away by surging waves. Being thrown into the midst of a great fire. Being struck by lightning, being shaken to death by a great earthquake. Falling from thousand-foot cliffs, dying of disease, or committing seppuku at the death of one's master. And every day, without fail, one should consider himself as dead. This is the substance of the Way of the Samurai.

  • Ghost Dog: It is bad when one thing becomes two. One should not look for anything else in the Way of the Samurai. It is the same for anything that is called a Way. If one understands things in this manner, he should be able to hear about all ways and be more and more in accord with his own.
