Looking at the fate series from my very layman's perspective, there are big problems in the plot, lines, script, painting, characters, dubbing, etc., and I don't want to say more, but the only aspect is the characterization. People can't stand it. So I wrote a more subjective rating table here to complain about it to express my unhappiness.
Note: Only animations are discussed, not games.
Scoring principle:
1 star: shi, the characters themselves are shi
2 Stars: Characters that can exist, but are poorly crafted and insensitive.
3 stars: There are merits, but many places are confusing
4 stars: a character that I can understand and empathize with
5 stars: extremely impressive character
Sorry, 5 stars probably doesn't exist. One thing to note though, the main characters do get relatively high marks because they have more drama.
1. Master
1. Emiya Shirou 2 stars
righteous partner.
2. Tohsaka Rin 3 stars
The protagonist, a lovable character, is dominated by a stupid plot to help out, but lacks in-depth characterization, and participates in the Holy Grail War with faith for the sake of the family, but there is no sense of wanting to win in the overall situation.
3. Matou Sakura 1 star
Broken shoes (crossed out). Terribly bad character, indescribably bad. Senior, I am not a human being!
4. Elijah 2 stars
Characters with distinctive and cute characters, especially bad dubbing, will only cheer up Uncle B madly.
5. Mr. Ge Mu 3 stars
It's cool, the principles are as cruel and clear as Kiritsugu, and there's no drama.
6. Matou Shinji 1 star
I don't know how such a character was designed.
7. Kotomine Kirei 2 stars
fz spent a lot of time talking about the change of Yanfeng, but the process of telling is relatively general. Kotomine showed no signs of taking pain as pleasure before the change, but after Jin Shining's training, he began to be happy. The more I think about the whole process of shaping this character, the more confused I feel. His interests are contrary to his morals. This should be a sense of contradiction and entanglement, which is really messed up in him. After all, his character setting is really incomprehensible.
8. Matou Dirty Inkstone 2 stars
The author's wicked responsibility is extremely hateful.
9. Emiya Kiritsugu 4 stars
This is the character I want to talk about the most. Kiritsugu is the most tragic character in this work, and his twist is rare and makes me feel a certain charm. I admire this character who will do anything for the purpose, and his actions show the firmness of his beliefs. At the end of episode 19, Lao Xu revealed that under the veneer of Kiritsugu's righteous actions, the inherent morbidity, and thus the contradiction of a character, was revealed, so I appreciate this treatment. But compared to the huge distortion he was carrying, the memories used to explain his motives are still extremely far-fetched, and there is no sufficient reason for the change from Sunshine Boy to Murderer. In addition, in order to save people, he did not become a doctor but became a killer. Although this makes sense, it seems very unbelievable.
Another point to say is that the handling of Saber and Kiritsugu's discord and parting ways is really debatable. Although this does not affect Kiritsugu's character building, the large number of scenes of Alice and Saber are basically not expressive. Kiritsugu, that expressiveness must be completely different.
10. Alice Phil 2 stars
A necessary role for the plot, but there is no core, not even a reason for wishing to help Kiritsugu.
11. Tokiomi Tosaka 4 stars
The only two characters in the work that I understand and appreciate. He has the three-dimensional sense that a character should have, not only can he use various means for ideals or family descendants, but also has the dignity and moral principles of being a human being and a famous magician. I really liked the scene where he, as the Master, admonished Jin Shining with the courtesy of a courtier, it showed his heart. A very attractive character, but died of a backstab, and the role is simply not enough.
12. Kenneth 1 star
Iron waste, sent out. I don't know how such a character was designed.
13. Webb 2 stars
His plot is too childish, like a child in the Holy Grail War. The voice acting is terrible.
14. Ryu nosuke 1 star
I don't know how such a character was designed.
15. Matou Kariya 1 star
Ignorance and self-indulgence, I don't know what brain designed such a character.
2. Servant (distinguished by ubw/fz/hf below)
The problem with the design of the Servant group is that the author wants to use mythology to increase the cultural foundation of the story, so that the character depth itself has a certain accumulation, but in fact, all heroic spirits have been masked, and everyone brings With very pure motives, it is unreasonable in itself to depict famous figures in history. Based on his life experience, the heroic spirit is more complicated than the small miscellaneous cultivator who has only lived for more than ten years and a few decades.
1. Saber 4 stars
Saber is arguably the most charismatic character, largely due to her high quality and sense of reliability. However, it is really inappropriate for King Arthur to take a very narrow pattern of remorse as the core motivation of the character. Some people say that saber's performance in fz is too weak, which is contrary to the original work, but it has not changed in the following ubw and hf. But every time I shout "EX Curry Stick!" I get goosebumps.
2. Archer (ubw) 3 stars
I hate the way the red A is drawn, and I also hate the phrase "I am the bone of my sword" in kindergarten-level English. Other than that, it's understandable.
3. Lancer (ubw) 2 stars
In addition to being very cool, cool, and nice, Lancer's only other characteristic is that he likes Tohsaka, and this role is ridiculously thin.
4. Caster (ubw) 3 stars
Mom C is probably also a very popular character, and her purpose of pursuing the Holy Grail is relatively pure, which I can understand. The seemingly cruel surface is also gentle, so her modeling is at least complete.
5. Assassin (ubw) 2 stars
Yan back! So handsome! Chunchun is playing soy sauce, and I don't know what use this character has other than charging.
6. Rider (ubw/hf) 1 star
Pure dragon set, I don't know what use this character has other than charging. In hf, it was portrayed as a character who purely hoped that Sakura would be good, and I don't know why. Finally, a horse was called, oh so you are a rider.
7. Berserker (ubw/hf) 3 stars
The very popular Uncle B has indeed created a guardian, even the image of a father, in a limited space, but he has never won a fight. For a character that can only be created by standing silently and rushing, it is still qualified.
8. Kinpika 3 stars
The more popular Jin Shining and gorgeous treasures really make it difficult for the technology of Japanese animation to support, so Jin Shining must not look down on Japanese animation. A man who ranks as the king of heroes among heroes does not have the characteristics of being a king, a virtuous man, or a hero, but he is arrogant, mean, and full of foul-mouthed words. I don't know why you have to put such a twisted habit for a king, and the conversation with Kotomine is getting more and more childish. In addition, the sense of oppression is fairly well shaped.
9. Lancer (fz) 3 stars
A tragic knight who repeats his mistakes. Being loyal, yet weak, the dialogue between chivalry and saber is too naive. Lao Xu didn't give him a good ending, he shouldn't have scolded Kiritsugu at that time, he should have scolded Lao Xu.
10. Assassin (hf) 2 stars
A tool for advancing the plot.
11. Rider (fz) 3 stars
A very popular conqueror. The king who was fierce and brutal and flattened half of the picture became a hero who made friends with care. There are a lot of scenes, I am familiar with it, help everywhere, and the two Noble Phantasms are all gone at once, gg. The yearning for the "infinity sea" did not reveal his true desire. Moves people with the bond with Weber. Although I think the motivation of this character is very shallow, but in fz, it is true that saber is a force, because saber's motivation is indeed more stupid. From my point of view, Saber's idea is really unworthy of being king. In comparison, King Alexander looked fine.
12. Caster (fz) 1 star
I don't know how such a character was designed.
13. Berserker (fz) 2 stars
I didn't know who it was until the end. It turned out to be the famous Erwuzi in history. The meaning of his appearance was to set off Saber. Completely underwhelming.
