I feel like a lot of people don't understand it, and neither do I. The plot is still quite jumpy, not very coherent, and we need to look at this movie from a developmental perspective. It is to complete the plot omitted in the middle by myself, and then it will be clearer after knowing the ending. The first time you see it, it should be foggy.
Because I knew about this famous case, I was very worried that Scarlett was playing Dahlia, and it was very sad to think that such a beautiful person was going to be killed, but halfway through, I found myself worrying too much.
Scarlett's character Kay was originally a courtesan who followed a big bank robber, and later became Li's informant, partnering with Li to swallow the gangster's money and send him to prison. Later, the gangster was about to be released from prison, and Li was frantically looking for opportunities to blame the black dahlia case on the gangsters for fear of retribution. Later, Li mastered the secret of the incestuous father and daughter of the rich family and went to threaten the rich and her daughter, only to be silenced by the rich family's wife and her lover. The lover also died, but fortunately he didn't smash his face into the fountain and became anonymous. The case is deadlocked again. Later, after Bucky (Li's partner in the police station, and a good friend) and Kai were together, they accidentally discovered the stolen money that Li hid, and then accidentally discovered the place where the case happened, and combined they discovered the truth of the incident.
Bucky is more of a narrator throughout the story, with a sense of being in the game but nothing to do with him. In the end, after he discovered the truth, he didn't expose the rich man for the first time, but ran to their house by himself, almost thinking that he was going to be killed by the rich man's wife, but the wife committed suicide. The newspapers are also packaged as being killed by others, just... the power of capital?
The case is not the main one here, it is more like a catalyst, just because this case has attracted much attention, so the feeling of choosing this case.
