Three points for special effects and acting skills, two points for feelings, and one point for plot

In 2014, I finished watching "Maze Runner" in the cinema. I was full of expectations for this series of movies, and I bought a full set of original books to read. As a result, of course, after reading dozens of pages, the book was shelved due to other temptations, and because the North American movie 123 was really waiting for too long, even after 2 and 3 came out, I didn't pay much attention. So, with the filter on, this series became one of my favorite movie series in my mind.

In 2021, my boyfriend came to find me from out of town. I accidentally turned on the hotel TV and found Maze Runner 123 available to watch. My boyfriend hadn't seen the series, so I took him to watch all three movies with a sense of anticipation and admiration left in my memory.

After 7 years, people's experience and vision have changed, and they are not like the "brainless" when they first watched movies.

First of all, the movie has a lot to offer. As I wrote in the title, compared to other sci-fi films and suspense films, the completion of the special effects is still very good, even the 480p picture quality of the hotel, I think the picture looks very real. Although I don't understand the way of thinking in the heads of the male and female protagonists, the acting skills of them and the supporting actors are indeed in place. Not to mention more brilliant, but I can't pick out any big mistakes, everyone can perform the requirements of their roles.

Then again, it is inevitable that the movie as a whole is really bad. Revisiting from 1, the bugs of various plots are one after another. As sequels 2 and 3, the parts that were not described in 1 should have been clearly described and the circle drawn completely. But 2 and 3 did not provoke this big responsibility, but opened the gap in the circle wider and wider, and the plot became more and more ridiculous. Pointless sacrifices, unsuccessful creation of male and female protagonists, and inaccurate storylines are too deadly. Originally wanted to depict a grand world, but only a few strokes. 1 The suspense left behind, I did not understand until the end. The whole series revealed a "I'm rotten" atmosphere.

After reading it, I really can't help asking questions (pick a few points to complain about):

Maze 1:

1. The protagonist team needs to sacrifice so many people to reach the laboratory. Where does Gally's key come from? How could he single-handedly be only one step slower than the protagonist group? (Even if you shoot "Gally decided to take someone to stay, but after the protagonist group left, he looked back at the entrance to the maze", I can convince myself that he collected a key to a district during the riot the day before, and brought it with him. The other partners went into another area, and sacrificed all the partners along the way. Of course, this also contradicts his character)

2. The protagonist group has come to the end, what is the significance of the death of the little fat man? Neither did the male protagonist awaken any consciousness or firm up his thoughts, nor did it promote the plot. Don't come last! Gally said in the 3rd appearance that he was not dead at that time and was rescued by someone. We also know that the person who broke in later was WCKD. If they are angry, can they let him go? The logic really doesn't work.

3. The BOSS girl played a scene, but I didn't understand it until the end.

Maze 2:

They didn't say they could use guns, but the teenagers could use guns one by one. The desert does not lose its temperature at night, and the male protagonist relies entirely on Mang and Kai Golden Finger. Doing everything depends on others to save, and all the people in the rear will not end well. The role of teammates is to keep the male protagonist alive, their lives are not important.

A camp that has survived outside for many years doesn't know how to be vigilant, and when it first appeared, it showed people in all directions. The male protagonist knows that he has a chip and still does not seek a doctor to solve it.

Maze 3:

The male protagonist's serum cured the female second, but he never thought of giving Newt a shot. What kind of water was the leader on his right arm? Glucose? Mino was rescued and Newt was lost, and it was only a few minutes away from getting the lunch anyway.

The male protagonist dared to jump from tall buildings wearing thin clothes, but the well-trained soldiers did not dare to jump.

BOSS forced to die, and only Jensen was conscientious as a villain. The heroine can live but not, pretending to be righteous but not cherishing her life and knowledge. Humans can have the opportunity to continue, but they return to farming life, laugh to death, and technological civilization is gone.

In short, after watching three Maze Runners in two days, I have too many points to complain about. If you have a chance, go to the book again and see if it is the same. A three is too high, a two is too low. It's a movie I'll never watch again...

Maze Runner: The Death Cure quotes

  • Thomas: There's no guarantee we'll make it back from this.

Newt: But we started it together, we might as well end it that way too.

  • Thomas: Do you regret it? What you did to us?

Teresa: Sometimes. But I did what I thought was right.
