"Pickpocket" -- The expressionless face of the self-perspective

Some time ago, I found that Bresson's name often appeared in my eyes. I didn't look for much information about this director. I only knew that many people said that he was very great. To tell the truth, there are too many directors in this world who are said to be great. Maybe after a few years, if people's vision or understanding of movies is broad, many directors or movies that are overlooked will become classics. I don't say this to mean that Bresson is bad, plus after I watched "The Pickpocket", I became interested in this director, and then I immediately found his "Diary of a Country Priest" and "The Prisoner" . Maybe it’s because I recently read some articles about partial films. The more I read, the more excited I become. I feel that the world is so beautiful because of the history of films. Whether it’s a tragedy or a comedy, the film can teach me a lot in reality. What the world can't learn, and it also shows me a lot of things that have the potential to change me. Some people will ask me: Do you not like who you are now? I don't know how to answer this question, because I believe that human life is a process of pursuit, character, life, material, spiritual, love, sexual desire, and so on.

I think I am a person with rich expressions, which is not always good. At least I can't be a good liar. The liar can be a very difficult role. And all the characters in "The Pickpocket" are so expressionless that I like them. Some people say that the director likes to control all the actors to be expressionless, so many people think that his films should be dull. These are just personal favorites, and I like this very much. It feels very fresh, and although "Pickpocket" is not long and the characters have no expressions, but because of this, I can actually feel what each of them is thinking, and it is very clear.

Mike is a handsome young man. He doesn't have a job. He likes to keep a diary. It can be said that he likes to use writing to ask questions about his life and life, find problems, record everything, whether it is good or bad, this method is very useful. , when a person is thinking, you will undoubtedly get some answers. Stealing is fun for him. In this dull world, he treats this behavior as an art to study, experience, and even has an autobiography of a pickpocket in hand. Money is not important to Mike, people are always forced by the environment, so there are many different expressions to explain their struggles to the outside world.

There are many theft scenes in the film, all of which are the process of Mike and two accomplices doing the crime together, and the cooperation is seamless, but in the end, the two accomplices were arrested, this is not the so-called Skynet performance, director Doing this just makes Mike see a more sensitive side, and his pursuit shouldn't stop here, because he hasn't found the direction he has always been. The few years I left Paris to wander was just a pause. Although time passed, Mike's heart was still in the same place. Jenny's helpless reappearance was the moment that pushed Mike's life to a climax, and the prison turned out to be The safest place for the two of them, why do you say that? It can be seen from the expressions of Mike and Jenny. The whole film, more than an hour, the expressions of all the characters remain the same, but only in the few seconds in the prison, the facial expressions of the two of them have changed a lot. Of course, if you don't watch this film from beginning to end If you do, you won't find the change in expressions between them, so this is one of the things that I find interesting.

In the end, can we really be ruthless in the face? I don’t wish I could see such a day. For life, full of hope is the reason for living. If there is no hope, you need a reason. Everything should be based on the reason. Otherwise, don’t think, don’t act, just Turn yourself into a dead thing.
