Jodorowsky is an absolute genius, and the difficulty of making this film is staggering. A good film of magical realism full of elements of politics, religion, sexuality, rights, tarot, alchemy, etc. Crusaders toads, octopuses on the back of the neck, birds flying out of their chests, bugs crawling on books, men pulled out of their bodies, pigs, cattle and sheep and other animals that symbolize religion, Tarot cards on murals, Sanskrit on the ground Symbols, ubiquitous symmetrical structures, bright and peculiar colors, I can only say wonderful things when I am short of words. Climbing the holy mountain and pursuing "eternity" requires "cultivation", "removal of evil" and "removal of me", abandoning all physical and spiritual factors, but the pursuit itself is a desire. The male protagonist is a thief who looks like Jesus, which contains deep meaning , reminds me of Adam and Eve's stealing the forbidden fruit. The desire to take care of real people is unstoppable. The businessman, arms manufacturer, presidential adviser in the film, no matter what status, as long as there is desire in his heart, he will always reach Without the real eternity, the road to the holy mountain is to pursue the "eternity of life", but in fact it is to pursue the "truth" of the spirit. The breaking of the fourth wall at the end is really a stroke of genius. It sublimates the theme of the whole movie. Only by having the courage to break the "reality" can we pursue the real reality.
