Please stop talking about plagiarism

"Escape from Yakara" is a 1979 work. Although it is adapted based on real events, there are many loopholes: loudly discussing jailbreaking matters on the dining table and no one reveals, the use of self-made tools is so handy, and the action under the searchlight is like no one. In fact, the escape process of the criminals should be far more complicated and detailed than what is shown in the film, but the prison staff and filmmakers can't reproduce it perfectly. Therefore, this is not the fault of the story, it is the failure of the producers.

The plagiarism of "Shawshank" is even more absurd. It is also a prison-breaking film. "The Hole" appeared earlier, and it was all about digging a hole to escape. The escape process presented in the hole is far more convincing than that of "Yakala". Why not say that "Shawshank" copied "The Hole"? Due to the limited amount of movie viewing, it is impossible to cite earlier examples. In case there is an earlier prison escape movie, are the subsequent movies plagiarizing it?

Someone mentioned "Papillon". In fact, the theme of "Shawshank" is more similar to this movie, but the sense of form is stronger.

Say a thousand words and ten thousand, they are all prison escape films. There is no plagiarism or plagiarism among these films, because they have their own characteristics, and there is a big gap between their thematic and ideological aspects. Old films are not necessarily good, and new films are not necessarily bad. You don’t have to take old films to belittle the new ones. Take this "Yakala" as an example, it was properly surpassed by the younger generation.

In terms of a family, everyone can look at it with an entertaining mindset.

The original versions of "Shawshank" and "Prison Break" can be found in various classic sections. Compared with the other two derivative works, the rhythm of the film is more stable and sophisticated but also blunt, lacking the characterization and the suddenness of the plot. The tone of the rendering is more depressing.

    Frank Morris: Couple of months.

    Warden: You any good?

    Frank Morris: Terrible.

Warden: You'll get better. That's one of the benefits of Alcatraz - lots of time to practice.
