Allen killed his love for Lu, full of curiosity, connivance and worship. David's love was taken away at the last moment by Lu's heartless butterfly knife and the rocks that sank to the bottom of the sea. And using this kind of love as a self-defense weapon, he was constantly condoned. He used madness and recklessness to add to his charm.
