So I spent an hour and a half watching this not-so-splendid police and bandit movie, but I saw the shadow of "Infernal Affairs".
The plot is not outstanding, the stunned young detective Reeves insists on his "I'm gonna kill them" principle, that the crimes in the corner of the law must be executed by his own hands.
So he was used by the villain chief Wander, causing his teammates to be killed, and he was almost cleaned up by Wander.
So Reeves insisted on investigating, and finally found out that Wander, who he once thought was his best friend, was behind the scenes, so he killed them all.
When the decision was finally made to surrender, the decent boss appeared, hoping that Reeves would continue to be a "shooter" to punish the sinners in the corner of the law.
However, in the bland plot, I can still see the excellent acting skills of several leading actors. Not to mention how outstanding Reeves' performance is, at least he is serious about entering the play, and he has successfully created the image of a reckless and righteous detective. The performance of Wander's actor can even be said to be a little bit brilliant, and the image of the director of a honey belly sword can be said to be vivid. Especially the composure before being revealed by Reeves and the hysteria after being revealed, and the phrase "I`m the king of secret" can be said to be a highlight of the whole film.
What the film wants to tell us is a question. Is the value of justice in the process or in the result? If justice is maintained by means of injustice, is justice still worthwhile? If you stick to the principles of justice and miss the punishment for sin, what is the value of justice?
Reality will not have such a perfect ending for the film. Often we will encounter countless situations and must choose one of the process and the result, but will the contradiction, our choice, become the object used by Wander in reality? The film does not give us the answer, and it is difficult for us to make our own.
Maybe it's just like Reeves said, "You need me." Injustice is needed in life, which is not sin, but it cannot be recognized by us. They are just STREET KING, just demons who judge demons in hell.
Fortunately, all this is still in the name of justice. It's just that no matter how great the flag is under the sun, there is always a shadow, which is left to the darkness and to the hearts of the people.
