Wind Whisperer - Redemption of the Soul
If there is one word to define this film, I think "redemption" is the most appropriate. Whether it is self-redemption after battlefield stress, or a change in thinking about racial discrimination, or the protection of hostile civilians on the battlefield, the film promotes a kind of tolerance for letting go of prejudice and tolerance for oneself.
From the perspective of plot development, the story of the film is layered. Enders first witnessed the death of his comrades in the Solomon Islands, and then tried his best to leave the hospital and go to the front line until he learned that the mission was to protect the Indians. The embarrassment of the partner when we first met, these plots are not long, but they are enough to make people have a strong empathy for this frustrated hero, and understand the fear and struggle in his heart that cannot be expelled. The climax of the story takes place in the fierce battle on Saipan, in which the kindness and greatness of human nature are magnified. The American soldier with the halo of the protagonist finally died on the battlefield. At that moment, it was a reconciliation to himself, a compensation for the arrogance of the past, and a relief from the pain that should not have been endured. Yaz the Navajo also understands the true responsibility and mission, a value higher than personal life.
The anti-war thought conveyed by the film is expressed just right, and the film depicts an ideal world of peace in the field of artillery fire. It was an egalitarian society that transcended race, a world where everyone lived and worked in peace. The young people on the battlefield miss their families far away, the people on the front line long for a stable life, and the soldiers dare not face love directly because they cannot help themselves. For ordinary people, the meaning of participating in the war is to end the war as soon as possible. Regardless of their post-war life, the yearning for rebirth is what keeps them going. The same is true in life. In the midst of suffering, you need to find the ideal light to heal your heart.
