1. Lady King Charles Spaniel, Tramp Welsh Terrier, trusty Great Dane, Jock Schnauzer.

2. Jock buried his bones and sang Loch Lomand, a Scottish folk song.

3. The film was created in 1955, but the plot background is not. Searching for the life and creative background of the screenwriter Ward Greene was fruitless. Based on the interior decoration style, character clothing, and steam train appearing in the movie, the background is probably between the late Victorian era and Edward VII.

4. The Welsh Terrier was recognized as a new breed by the British Kennel Club in 1886. Ten new dog breeds were born during the Victorian period.

5. The London Zoo has been open to the public since 1847. The Victorian period was also a period of flourishing development of natural history, flora and fauna.

6. The morning post that appeared in the movie was merged by the Daily Telegraph in 1937.

7. Jock told Lady that Trusty dreamed of being exchanged with his grandfather and trapped in Crimea. Before being raised by the current owner, he was miserable and lost his sense of smell. After being awakened from sleep, Trusty described seeing the target as "6 feet 2 inches high and 3 feet wide." It is speculated that the Trusty series was raised as a military scout dog, and was adopted because of the loss of smell.

8. The Crimean War (1853-1856) was the beginning of the modern technological war. The British and French forces fought for control of the Black Sea with Russia in January 1854. The army regiments dispatched from February included the 71st Highland Dogs. Mission (the 71st Highlanders regiment with dog). Presumably, this was the reason why Trusty's grandfather was trapped in Crimea.

9. The value orientation of lady and tramp in the movie is to give up taking risks and return to the family. The personality of lady also meets the requirements of women in that era. When the time comes to 2019, the shepherdess in Toy Story 4 abducted Buzz Lightyear to continue the adventure journey. Women no longer follow the tradition and depend on their families and men. The rise of feminism has caused a change in the value orientation of literary works.

Lady and the Tramp quotes

  • Lady: [Watching Trusty running and howling in his sleep] He's dreaming.

Jock: Aye, dreamin' of those bonnie bygone days when he and his grandfather were tracking criminals through the swamps.

    Lady: They were?

    Jock: But that was before...

    Lady: Before what?

Jock: 'Tis time you knew the truth, lassie. It shouldn't have happened to a dog, but... well, Trusty has lost his sense of smell.

    Lady: [Gasp] No!

Jock: Aye, but we must never let on that we know, lassie. It would break his poor heart.

  • [first lines]

Jim Dear: [Giving Darling a hatbox] It's for you, Darling. Merry Christmas.

Darling: Oh, Jim, dear. It's the one I was admiring, isn't it? Trimmed with ribbons?

Jim Dear: Well, it *has* a ribbon.

[the box is opened; inside is a puppy wearing a ribbon]

    Darling: Oh, how sweet.

Jim Dear: You like her, Darling?

Darling: [hugging the puppy] Oh, I love her. What a perfectly beautiful little Lady.
