Eight millimeters of humanity

The film "Eight Millimeters" is the most pessimistic and darkest interpretation of human nature I have ever seen. The story begins with a mysterious eight-centimeter film. In the film, a girl was hacked to death after being sexually abused. The detective must find out if the film is real or just an obscene porn. The director deliberately used the technique of backtracking and blurring to put the detective in a very difficult search process. So we knew the girl in the film was a missing girl. She went to Hollywood to fulfill her star dream with her boyfriend. She was dumped by her boyfriend, lived in a halfway house, and ran away in the middle of the night. We met the girl’s mother. After she divorced and remarried, her daughter and stepfather did not get along well. One day she ran away from home and never came back. And the second husband finally abandoned her. We met the girl’s boyfriend, abandoned his girlfriend, and professed that “if you fuck her, you don’t mean to love her.” However, his star dream was not fulfilled. Instead, he went to jail for theft. Except for the mother, and the detective who must solve the case, no one in the world cares whether this girl is dead or alive.
