The Brotherhood of Ramses and Moses (It's Not), produced by DreamWorks in the 1990s. Almost all the ancient Egyptian movies you see begin with the magnificent scene of slaves pulling statues to build tombs! The soundtrack is Egyptian-style chorus, traditional performances...the tone, art and music are beautiful, the rose gold sand dunes are not too contrasting with the sun and wheat skin. The palace made of snowflake rock is gorgeous and solemn. Crested ibis, Nile, water lilies, and tulle are dense blue-purple. The group of workers, the circus of Moses and Ramses is amazing! Moses is still doing needlework, so cute. Many scenes are very similar to ancient Egyptian murals. It is very interesting to use colored columns and murals to express the pharaoh's massacre of Jewish infants. God showed the oracle to Moses in the cave, the bushes burn without burning, the branches sprout, and the branches flourish. The same scene is used as a metaphor for religious lines in Kingdom of Heaven. When Ramses realized that Moses was not coming back for himself, but only to liberate the Jews of Egypt, he tightened his muscles and put on the crown symbolizing the power of the pharaoh. Did God negotiate with the Egyptian gods? Why can God send disasters but not save people from massacres, just repeating that vengeance must be avenged? The religious and racial issues in the film are worth exploring. (I did a special check, and it is said that Ramses was a handsome guy. But the era of Ramesses does not match the Exodus of Moses, who in the Bible adopted Ramesses for his daughter.) The scene of the parting of the Red Sea is amazingly beautiful. Then, the people of Moses walked across the bottom of the sea, they were the first to see the deep sea, and the giant whales swam beside them. They saw sea anemones and large coral reefs, and left shattered carts on the seabed. Ramses kept calling Moses' name from the rock on the opposite bank. He held up his right hand with the ring that Moses returned to him.

The Prince of Egypt quotes

  • Hotep: So you think you've got friends in high places, with the power to put us on the run.

    [he vanishes]

Huy: Well, forgive us these smiles on our faces. You'll know what power is when we are done, son...

  • Tzipporah: [Moses has fallen into Jethro's Well] What are you girls doing?

Sister: We're trying to get the funny man out of the well!

Tzipporah: Trying to get the funny man out of the well. Well, that's one I've never heard before.

    [She looks down the well]

Tzipporah: Oh! Oh, my! Don't worry down there! We'll get you out! Hold on!

    [She sees it is Moses]

    Tzipporah: You!

[Tzipporah lets go of the rope, nods, and saunters away]

Sister: That's why Papa says she'll never get married.
