American young people and whites

This review has no spoilers at all, because it has almost nothing to do with the movie, haha. It's purely personal to complain. If we will have a real conflict with the United States in the future, we must know who we are dealing with.

I believe that there is a small group of people like White in the United States. They are an elite group of WASP (White Anglo-Saxon Protestants). They have huge rights and are invisible. They can easily change the destiny of a country. The goals they pursue are often confusing. They are often completely pragmatic. They can order soldiers to kill hundreds of civilians to facilitate or destroy an oil pipeline. Sometimes they are fully arbitrary. Because their behavior is unsupervised, many Americans don’t even know their existence, and their likes and dislikes are mixed in important decisions.

The young people in the United States are often the best weapon you can think of. They are young, they have patriotism, they are brave, and as soldiers they have the best training in the world, and they are actually seriously brainwashed. All for the country. The Americans in the old days did not actually have too many concepts of federation. Everyone called each other which state they came from because that was their origin. Now Americans have often been enthusiastic about their country under perennial patriotism education. American patriotism education sometimes makes you feel shocked. Almost every time you go to the NBA to watch football, some veterans must pay tribute to thousands of fans in the audience during the intermission, and the audience also pays military salutes; a few times. In bars, DJs occasionally play soldier songs, and all choruses in crowded venues, some even cry. I am often moved by this passion for patriotism and support for the military, and at the same time I am worried because such weapons are in the hands of people like White.

The Americans recently commemorated the 10th anniversary of the beginning of the Iraq War, with more than 4,000 deaths and 600,000 disabled people (they still do, not to mention the civilians in other countries). And this country does not give much room for grief. Few people commemorate them, and few people pay attention to these injured people. Everyone is passionate and ready for the next battle.

    Too heavy to understand

Such a complicated topic is really not suitable for an uneducated person like me.

Syriana quotes

  • Jimmy Pope: No, I wanna talk about the Gulf and how a goddamn Emir... What is an Emir, anyway?

Tommy Barton: King, it's a king.

Jimmy Pope: Well, how some Podunk king tossed you out on your ass! Every company in the world wanted into Kazakhstan, into the Tengiz, but Killen got it. And then Connex wanted Killen, and here we are. I made investments. Investments that'll bear fruit for this company. Hell, Tommy we've all got the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act committed to memory. I got a little copy of it taped to the wall of my head. Right here.

  • Stan: I like consulting. No, I love it. Love it. And I'll say this for it: "Private business is efficient." There, I've said it. Fucking cliché. And the CIA is like, what, a 30-billion-dollar-a-year business, so anybody who wants to sell anything, a pencil, a computer, they gotta interface through a security clearance. Don't give me shit. I got two kids in college and we're doing our kitchen.

Bob Barnes: Stan, I got a chance to go back to Beirut. I wanna go back. Is it safe for me?

Stan: Are we talking about with your wife or with the wackos?

    [long pause]

    Stan: Clear it with Hezbollah.
