The movie "SYRIANA" that should be most and least ignored in 2005

George Clooney is relatively untalented among Hollywood stars. Since the TV "Emergency Room" became famous, he hasn't played any outstanding roles, but he was also recognized as the most diligent in 2005, and he won the most from the same time. The best supporting actor and best director nomination can be seen.
After watching "SYRIANA", I was a bit embarrassed for him. Indeed, he is not as exquisite as Tom Hanks, or Dustin Hoffman, or Spielberg as handy for directors, but his talents are completely rejected by his political inclination. Fairly underestimated and despised.
At the time when the Oscars were announced, it was not seen in China. Some Chinese-speaking old friends on foreign Chinese websites laughed at him, saying that he was just a third-rate bastard in Hollywood. I didn't watch "SYRIANA" at the time, nor did I watch "GOOD NIGHT, AND GOOD LUCK" at the time, otherwise I would definitely have to fight. There is no doubt that his left-leaning liberalism tends to be sharp to the extreme, which can be reflected in the films he directs and plays.

It is conceivable that "SYRIANA" has also become a movie ignored by mainstream American audiences (mostly inclined to conservatism and isolationism). In this sense, it "deserves the crime". But it should not be ignored, because whether it is the depth of the script, the intricacies of the plot, and the director's grasp of the overall ability, it can completely enter the circle of the best movies of "Brokeback Mountain" and "Crash". . It’s always hard for me to feel shocked when I watch such serious movies. But this one is completely different. Although its rhythm is not fast, it is very exciting and has many shocking shots. But maybe it is because it is too complicated and profound, beyond the scope that the average American can understand within 2 hours, so many foreshadowings and hints have been missed, no wonder it will be ignored.

But it still has a very clear political view, perhaps too clear. This is a big obstacle to the movie. For those on the right, this is probably just a superficial and contemptuous work of angry youth that exposes the dark side of the American political and judicial system. Whether it is the Saudi prince who is a positive reformer, or the old fox Huaiting who is a negative image, or the cunning and impetuous little prince, there is a tendency to face makeup. Although these characters have a slightly more distinctive "class characteristics", they are still impressive and not boring—compared to the ridiculously superficial opposition between good and evil in commercial films, they are completely acceptable. As for the theme, oil, alas, oil... In many cases, the truth is repeated many times and it becomes a pedantic cliché—the same is true for the role of oil for the country. In "SYRIANA", the various intrigues surrounding the oil and the coercion and temptation between the head of state (or quasi-head of state), and the coldness of abandoning the role of a chess piece like a shoe, are enough to match any Chinese court. And unpredictable. At the same time, although the movie's portrayal of small characters is not much, it is sympathetic. In this sense, "SYRIANA" has an extraordinary atmosphere. There are no protagonists in the whole movie, or everyone is the protagonist. They influence each other without realizing it, changing the trajectory of each other's lives. From this perspective, it is very similar to "Crash".
But it still has a strong idealistic color, so that it also has this kind of humanistic temperament when it shows the disillusionment of ideals. For example, the analyst played by Matt Dimon, such as the young Pakistani who finally became a terrorist. I believe this kind of humanistic temperament deepens the right wing's disdain for this movie.

But for leftists or libertarians, it is a highly profound work. Its portrayal of the struggle for interests is very deep and shocking, and its performance techniques are also very artistic. I was very impressed when the terrorists carried missiles suicide attack the oil tanker for a few seconds.
For a Chinese, "SYRIANA" can bring a special favor, because it is full of China's powerful shadow and criticism of the United States for unfairly rejecting China's legitimate competition in the oil field. If the dialogue that used the suppression of FLG as a metaphor when BOB was tortured in just two minutes was revised, if I were the Central Propaganda Department, I would allow it to enter China, because it serves as an inspiration for the pride of the Chinese nation and for the United States. The vigilance, or the tool for questioning American “democracy”, couldn’t be more appropriate-by the way, it’s easy to change, as long as you change this paragraph to the content of the scum cave in "Red Rock" when dubbing.

Excluding the tendency of the movie's standpoint, "SYRIANA" is a very powerful movie, and its depiction of conspiracy is written in three points. But I don’t seem to talk about George Clooney’s acting skills. I can only say that he played very hard, and it’s not too outrageous to get an Oscar with this movie, but in the group portrait of the movie, all the actors are outstanding, and more importantly, "SYRIANA" should be in the best. The film competition, in this sense, I regard George Clooney’s best supporting actor as a comfort and apology for the film "SYRIANA", and I compare him as "GOOD LUCK, GOOD NIGHT" The director's consolation for not winning is more important.

I haven't found the exact meaning of the word SYRIANA, but after writing the above content and searching for the meaning of the word with GOOGLE, I accidentally found this review. I strongly recommend it to everyone, because it does what I didn't do here. : Explain the intricate plot and hint clearly. However, before or after reading that review, I suggest that you still watch this movie. For 2005, when the market was sluggish and good movies appeared endlessly, it was another movie not to be missed.
